do they sell for a good amount of money?

First you have to correctly identify the piece, by year, by manufacture, is it in good condition, is it complete with sheath (the cover for the blade).

Then if its desirable for a collector it can have value, bur remember swords were manufactured in the hundreds if not thousands depending on the time.

i saw them on antique road show and depending on the condition and make and details they can bring you a pretty penny.
