Pneumonitis is the broader term applied for the inflammation of the lungs or lung tissue.

As it says in the previous answer, there are specific term applied when a particular part or tissue within the lungs are inflammed. eg, bronchitis when, bronchus affected.
There are various reasons attributed to the pneumonitis such as smoke, dust, inhalation of metal particles and inhalation of other allergens.

Just, to correct the previous answer, pneumonia is not fluid in the lungs. Pneumonia is another form of pneumonitis caused by an infection, and also occurs from the aspiration of food and foreign particles into the lungs .

So, Pneumonitis is generally said for an inflammation of the lungs.
Hope, this helps,
