Do you think you can fool God?

You must love God for who and what He is, not for what He can give you? Or you really serve yourself, not God

Dont serve God to get into heaven, serve God because you love him, and you already are going to heaven because of Christ's sacrifice.

K for Him-----very well put. Works based faiths are religions. Religion will not save. Only Christ and a relationship with him will save.

Human nature is attracted to 'works based' religions. Where people hope to do enough good deeds to be saved.

Unless one is born again they will not see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

You need to believe in God first to serve him in the first place. That's why the biggest sin ever is not to believe in him. If you do not believe in God, then you do not believe in heaven & hell, so you will do all sorts of sins. Now, if you try your best to do good because you want to go to heaven it automatically means that you love God, otherwise you will never do good and will not care. What I am saying is that if you believe in God then you will love him & you will try your best to please him & get the reward.

"If you are serving God to get into heaven or to keep from going to hell, whose best interests are you serving?"

You're own human nature (which is a sinful one).

Well put! Thank you for the reminder! May the Lord bless you! This should be the only reason to serve the Lord. Jesus is my portion! It is good that the Lord sees the heart!

God is merciful enough to accept us with some imperfections.

That's what grace is all about.

By cooperating with God's grace to the best of our ability, we can have it both ways.
