I would like to know the average length and width of the American woman's vagina, I know some vary, but.... I'm try to do a report for my anatomy class, and I picked this question.

If you're doing this for an anatomy class then you need to make sure you understand the idea of a potential space. The vagina is one such potential space and therefor has no average capacity (it's probably capacity and not size you should be considering).
As a potential space, the vagina has the ability to become larger or smaller to accommodate whatever is being introduced (within reason).
Remember, the typical healthy vagina can grip a finger or release the head of a baby. That's an amazing potential space.
Remember too, the ability to exert force (grip or tightness) has nothing to do with capacity and everything to do with muscle tone. They are related about the same as saying "how big does your arm have to be to press 250#" the two aren't really related at all.
So, your question should likely bring you to consideration of not depth and width but instead the concept of potential space, the elasticity of the vaginal canal and introitus, and of course the ability of the pelvic musculature to exert force or relax from exertion.
Great anatomy question! It's not an easy one. I suspect this report might be better received in an advanced class on reproductive anatomy and phsyiology though.

the answer to ur question is hard
in fact scientists have spent years and years of research and couldn't come up with an answer .
and it seems like a women vagina will remain a mystery for ever.
but from my own experience i believe it has diff shapes, depths, widths and taste.
underline taste, cz that's the issue here.
depths rangs from 5 to 15 inches
width ranges from 3 to 5 inches
length ranges from 4 to 8 inches.
remember it depends on age, sexual practices and if she had given birth b4.

Width; I don't think there is a real answer for that... it varies far too much for a number. Length; I say about 12 inches or about 30cm. I of course have no real numberz but just from experience when my boyfriend ( 10 inches) is going really deep I feel it somewhere up top... and it kinda hurts so I figure that's where it ends.

I read in Playboy magazine once, that it is about 5 inches. Anyone with five inches or less is OK, as it is the width that matters, not the length, and what you do with it, once you get inside. I hope this helped you a little...

Wow. all i can say is wow.. what a question. This never even occured to me to wonder or ask this question. I guess us girls don't treat our vaginas the way you guys do with your penises lol.. and honestly i don't know the answer to how deep? guess it'll remain a mystery for now

If you were, you would just go to the library and look it up in any of several books.... don't need to lie dog - average is 3 - 4".
