Honestly, why would our Creator go through all the effort of creating a world merely to "flush it down the drain"? Also, why didn't he just go ahead and end it with Noah's flood- He wanted to psyche us out our something?

I know all the Bible verses, guys. Just posing this for discussion- I want to see what you think. kthx.

ladyren, what was the purpose of that rant? It had nothing to do with the question in the parameters that were either defined or implied.

I actually like your question; I wish more people would think before they post a reactive rant. It's really asking about the teleos or ultimate purpose of the world (or cosmos). I agree it doesn't make any sense to create the world if it's ultimate teleos is just to be destroyed. What kind of sicko would do something like that?

I would say it's more like a gardener who plants say, some tomatoes, knowing that the plant is going to wither and die at the end of the season. But the plant will bear fruit along the way. That's the teleos of the vine - to bear fruit, to perpetuate itself in its seeds and bear new life, rather than to simply continue on in existence ad nauseum. The world may be destroyed eventually; but it will have borne fruit along the way, and ultimately yield new life.

Peace to you.

All at the same time now, "THE BIBLE IS A TRANSLATED text textile. THE BIBLE IS A TRANSLATED text textile. THE BIBLE IS A TRANSLATED text textile." ok? have been given it? Take this one as an occasion, the place you record why human beings can stone. "For adultery (alongside with city rape sufferers who fail to scream loud sufficient) (Deut. 22:23-24)" ok, i'm not even specific the form you got here to that end examining it in English. yet regardless of. Crying out can recommend extra beneficial than only screaming. it could additionally be taken as she comments what passed off today. It does not unavoidably could be taken that she actually screamed. So be careful the form you seem at this earlier you pass judgment. The regulation of Moses became between the 1st that handed rights for rape sufferers. As for each little thing out, i won't be in a position to assert i comprehend each and all of the solutions. basically that God created existence, and Christ conquered dying. existence and dying is God's on my own.

Your beginning premise is incorrect.... no personal god created the world... there is no sky daddy, get over it. Even the Catholic church accepts that evolution happened.

With that, you ought to consider what the bible really is.... the collection of myths, stories, folk lore and fairy tales of a group of middle eastern stone age starving shepherds living an awful life in a terrible place... (It still is, isn't it?) The tribe of Israel had their set of stories, Babylon, Egypt, Hittite, Hyksos and others had theirs, and most shared not only their stories, but goods, services, wives, and whatever else....everyone traded everything..... The adam and eve story comes directly from Babylon, and the 12 denials precede Moses and the 10 commandments by some 1200 years...almost word for word. You may find the history of the bible interesting...it is nothing today, what it was 2500-1500 years ago. Google it and all its parts... fun reading. Gospel according to Philip, Judas, Thomas, etc. Lots left out that was embarrassing to believers of today....

"Also, why didn't he just go ahead and end it with Noah's flood- He wanted to psyche us out our something?"

Because Noah was faithful to Him.

I know you said you know the Bible verses but just for future refrences:

John 3:17

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to take our punishment for sin. Jesus Christ Himself was willing to go through what He did on the cross to take our punishment for sin. Just in case you think God takes His creation lightly, you can think agian because nothing could be further from the truth. God has given every person that ever lived on this earth a chance to have eternal life; it is not the fault of God that people reject His gift of eternal life.

IF God exists, and IF he's as all-powerful as everyone says, creating the universe would be as hard to him and picking up a leaf would be to you or me. It wouldn't have been a lot of trouble, so he'd have no qualms about destroying it.

Everything that has a beginning, has an end...

Since you brought up the Great Flood, read the Book of Enoch and you'll find out why.

Peace be with you!

He did not design it thinking he was going to destroy it. He designed it to be perfect. However due to the corruption of the world he must clean it up, not by destroying the world but by destroying the people who destroy the world.
