If you were told by a divine source that you were going to hell and had no chance of redemtion, would you continue to read your bible and do all the things you do in your religion?

Please answer the question as it's written and don't answer it with a question. Most of the religious people I encounter have one goal in mind and that it to get to heaven. Seems like it's a selfesh act.

It seems that the theme of some answers is that, in a nut shell the question is invalid or God will change his mind.

Let me be blunt. If God appeared to you and said "you are not going to make it to heaven and it's part of my master plan". Would you continue to do what you do now.

A friend of mine who has been left at an orphanage since he was a baby is trying so hard to find his mother. He know his mother doesn't want him but it is his responsibility to search for her.

I am not a christian but I will keep worshiping Him even if I knew He doesn't want me to be by His side. It is my responsibility. What else should I do?

If you read the Bible and go to church it is highly unlikely that you would be cast into hell, unless you just do it as a superficial showing of religion, in which case you get what you deserve. As for your additional question. It not the Bible or going to church that gets you to heaven, it's what you do with Gods gifts here on earth. You can church away and pray till your throat gets sore, but if all you prya for is to get to heaven.......well you probably won't make it.

I would question the divine source because I KNOW that if you seriously repent your sins and accept Christ as your savior you will not go to hell. But, if you are just kinda glancing at the bible and taking up space in the pew with no real interest to be there, then yeah, maybe you have problems.

I would still read the Bible and believe in Christ because I know for a fact that by grace of God and through faith I will be saved. So this "divine source" have nothing on me!

If you continue to read the Bible and go to Church, you would know that you weren't going to hell, even if someone told you different

According to the Bible if you have asked Jesus into your heart then you are saved.
There is no deed (or act) that you can not be forgiven for, and the Lord is the ONLY one who can decide whether or not you will go to heaven.

Good Luck to You!!!

LoL, I don't believe in heaven or hell. So, I don't think I would do anything different then what I'm doing since religion isn't a big thing for me right now.

But, I think other people would just in case they can change god's mind.

My Bible tells me that because Jesus has already paid for my sins, I am NOT going to hell. I would not listen to any SOURCE that contradicts the Word of God. It wouldn't be DIVINE.

Once again, someone who has no idea on what the Bible is all about. Jesus ALWAYS offers redemption until the point when you enter eternity.

God Bless.

P.S. Run spell check next time

Yes because if you keep reading the bible you find Jesus Christ and that if you ask forgiveness through him you will be saved from the wrath of God.
