You Christians say that God only knows our future but doesn't make our choices. And you thus throw in the word foreknowlege in place of predestination. But the problem with this argument is that God was the one who created us! Therefore it is not only foreknowlege, but also predestination! God created our whole body, including our brains! And what do we use to make decisions? Our brains of course! God already has recorded our life in a book before we were born! God was the one who put us in the environment we were brought up in! What is it that determines our thoughts and thus decisions? The combination of our brains and environment...both of which God provided for us! And how do you christians not call this predestination?

Christians call this pre-destination. They say that god knows what you'll choose before he even creates you, but somehow you still have free will to make up your own mind. It's a catch 22, a good god creating a person knowing that he'd just send them to hell in the end means he isn't good.

Even if it's only foreknowledge... If god sees the future then there's no way anyone could change/prevent that from happening, since god already saw it, so we are merely accomplishing the future, it's like trying to avoid the unavoidable....unless god isn't omniscient. Foreknowing still adds up to pre-destination when we're talking about an all knowing god

Those who don't want a Sovereign God use the word foreknowledge to suggest that He looked down the tunnel of time and saw what decision we made and then picked it. I highly disagree with Arminians.

God is Sovereign and He knows all things and I love Him and praise Him for predestining me and drawing me and saving me.

That would mean that if I am evil, I am not, because God predestined me to be evil. He is evil as a consequence. Hence why some believe Judas was a hero fulfilling his destiny as God wanted. I am pretty annoyed with this life I live, spending my life studying philosophy, religion, spirituality. I get the feeling my predestined life says that God now doubts himself and wants me to prove it.

Oh dear, where does that leave me. If i prove he does not exist; but I exist because it is written in his book; then I will cease to exist also. (Now running down to the Church to convert !)

1. Free will. God has given us free will. Even though He still knows what we're going to do any way.

2. I'm not really sure how to answer that. Define your definition of "predestination"

You still are harping on this God has recorded our life in a book and the bible does not say this. I think the question is instead of trying to say what do we not understand we understand perfectly what the bible is trying to say , but it seems you have the problem understanding. If you want an answer ask a question, if you keep trying to throw your opinionated statements in then I will not help answer your question because it is obvious you are not seeking an answer but trying to put an out of context agenda.

The classical argument between Calvinism and Arminianism. Does it really matter? As long as you have Jesus in your life, it doesn't. Some day when I am in Heaven, I will know the answer, untill then, I just put my faith in my Creator.

God Bless.

If that were true it would mean that we had allready made all of our decisions ourselves before we were born.

Either way, God knows everything that we will do, whether we make our own decisions or not.

So the question is: Why does he theaten to punish us with Hell for things that he allready knows that we will do?

In the name of God, what is the point?

Predestination is outrageously false. I agree that every choice you make comes with its consequences, but once Christians convert to Atheism all will be right again!

We have free will to choose our own course. However, God will use all things to fit His will and plans. A mystery none of us can understand fully.
