there's this boy that i've kinda liked a bit and we started talking recently more than usually and now he is always smiles around me and when we're with friends he makes sure he is always next to me. I dont want to ask him if he likes me cuz if not then that would be akward and i don't want that, but i don't know how to act around him now?
I don't know if these are signs or just wishful hope.

Some guys are kinda shy. The guy I am with now is real shy and he did the same thing this guy is doing. He would look at me alot and come and stand around me alot. So I just started talking to him alot and then his friend said he was going to ask me out so I gave him my phone # and he called me and asked me out and we have been together for 2 years. It's wonderful and I am so glad I gave him my phone #. Why don't you try it?

This boy is very interested in you. Act like you are interested in him also, show him by welcoming him to sit along side of you, smile back at him and talk to him about things he seems interested in. Do not get up tight, be relaxed or you will scare him away.

Just keep waiting it out and flirt back a bit. The fact that he wants to be with you is flirting. But yeah wait it out until he gives you a more definite sign.

He' s probably shy. Maybe he needs more encouragement from you like touching his arm when your next to him, you know subtle clues.Or giving him a sexy look every now and then. If he really likes you it will show sooner or later.

definately do NOT ask him whether or not he likes you, he obviously does. flirt with him and make sure he knows that you are available...like, ask him if he has your cell # or your email address or something like that...it's practically telling him to contact you personally.
