we have always felt out of the loop, and have been not included many times with family things. recently at a dinner a family member suggested a family cruise and asked me to go. wanting to be honest, i said no thank you. i was not rude or disrespectful but after the family member asked me seven more times, i guess i became emphatic with my "no". Now other family members are saying i was disrespectful and trying to purposely hurt peoples feelings. it is true that i have a lot of feelings of resentment for things that happened when i was a kid, but i didn't mean to be rude or disrespectful, they are still family and i love them because they are family, but i know i would not enjoy going on vacation. am i wrong?

The family member was rude and disrespectful for asking you repeatedly and embarressing you. You said no, I assume you meant it. No, you really don't want to go on vacation with these people.
