Diarrhea is our body's impulse when something is wrong inside our stomach. It is our body's way to get rid of the cause of the problem. Dehydration is what we should prevent. It is important that you replace the liquid and electrolytes that you take out from your body. I should suggest you take oresol solutions (powder or tablet will do). Good Luck! LOL..

Make sureyou have plenty of water or even better, Gatorade.
You might have had a heat stroke or something not good for you.
Eat bananas, crackers(plain), and bread with toast.
If symptoms continue, i suggest you have immodium pills.
If this doesn't even work, you might have Chlorera or irritable bowel syndrome.
Ask your family docotr about this.
Dont worry, diarrhea always comes with stomach pains!
If you have any more stomach problems, feel free to email me at akshatrajan@yahoo.com.
I'm a gastreontologist so I basically know much about a stomach.
Also, make sure you don't over exert yourself or go in heat as this can trigger more diarrhea.
Make sure you have plenty of liquids as you an get dehydration from the water lossfrom the diarrhea.
That would be very bad
Hope I helped
Sincerely, Dr.Rajan

Unless they gave you some medicine at the ER, you could take pepto-bismal or equivalent (the pink stuff) or other anti-diarreah medicine (over the counter)
You definitely need to drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration, but stay away from anything with sugar or caffeine or alcohol as these add to the dehydration effect.
Straight water or mild juice at most. It sounds to me like you have a mild case of food poisoning.
You should rethink what you had for your last two or three meals and write them down incase things get worse.
Undercooked meat from chicken to seafood to pork if under cooked can cause this as well as cross contamination of dishes and utensils. (cutting raw meat with the same unwashed knife as cutting veggies, or cutting board or plate.
This condition can last for 8-48 hours depending on what was eaten, when and how much also what is eaten after words.
if you can stomach it, try to eat something like high fiber bread or oatmeal that can absorb the toxin in your gut and push the bad stuff through and out.
I don't recommend taking aspirin or other pain relievers as they can complicate/exasperate the situation.
Sometimes detergent can cause diarreah and cramping.
if you use a dishwashing machine, sometimes soap residue will remain on dishes. That can cause it also.
brothy (not creamy) chicken soup can help sometimes soothe the stomach.
if you have a history of irritable bowel syndrome or sensitive stomach, it may be caused by certain spices or acidic ingredients or an allergic reaction to something.
Follow the ER recommendations, follow up with physician indicating diet.
Also, high strees, nervousness or anxiety such as job loss or marital difficulty can cause diarreah and GI tract problems.
go to webmd dot com and search diarreah.

Rehydration is the most important thing for diarrhea.
You should drink a glass of water every time you have a motion.
It is understandable you want to give your digestive tract a rest, but if you fail to stay hydrated you may need to be put on an IV drip!
Dehydration is the biggest killer of diarrhea sufferers in 3rd world contries where there is no safe water supply.

Well, to allow for your gastrointestinal symptoms to calm down, there are a couple of suggestions. First, avoid any heavy foods IE: cheese, milk, fatty foods/fried foods. Ease into with starting with clear liquids, small sips of water and/or Gatorade, bananas, rice( with helps with binding), applesauce, tea ( without milk), and yogurt. These are all foods that are easy on the stomach. In addition, to prevent dehydration from the diarrhea, try over-the-counter Imodium. This should lessen the diarrhea. Stay away from fruits, vegetables, salads as this will cause further upset. When your tummy starts to feel settled, try toast, scrambled eggs. I hope that this helps. Hope hat you feel better soon.

I would answer Imodium as well. However, if you do feel like you are ready to try to eat something, stay on a BRAT diet for the first day -- bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Good luck to you!
