AA my friend. But of course the "alcoholic in the making" needs to have the desire to stop drinking and seek help. The first step, as they say, is admitting they are powerless over alcohol.

An alcoholic "in the making" sounds like an alcoholic. And the simple answer is that they're very unlikely to be able to just stop drinking on their own. I'd recommend Alcoholics Anonymous as a good first step toward sobriety. It's worked for millions of people over the years!

AA might help for support purposes-mainly it's gonna be just deciding to do it and following through. Think about sports, volunteering, taking classes at a local college-lots of possibilities out there.

I am putting you in charge of this otherwise alcoholic-to-be.. unless you're him?? In that case, everything will be fine.. so get off your *** and find a hobby!
