If all the hairs have come off from that spot, it's most likely ring worm. It's quite common for cats under 1 year old. If your cat is older than that, it's better to give him/her bath once a week, using the special shampoo for ring worm treatment or take your cat to the vet to get pills.

Sounds like a ring worm, allergy or a possible bite wound that festered. Can't be for sure without seeing it.

It could also be a flea bite. He might be alergic to fleas if it is.

is it tinder or sinsitive? it could be a bee/wasp sting or spider bite
