What do you "really"believe concerning death?Do you think that's it, we just live for a short time and then die, or do you think it is possible that we could continue to live in another form of existence,or something else? I "really" do want to know.Thanks.

I don't know :) I think the logical conclusion is that when we die, everything dies. That includes our consciousness and our energy.

I acknowledge the possibility (note: not probability) that there could be something of the person that remains beyond death. I've experienced things which many people would describe as "ghosts". I don't call them that as it would just be a guess. When I don't know something, I am perfectly ok saying "I don't know."

But really, what would make the most sense? Death is the end.

Some atheists believe in reincarnation and whatnot, but I do not. I truly believe that when people die, that's it. Sorta like when people sleep without dreams...you don't really have any recollection of yourself while you were asleep. You don't think. There's just...nothing. It's hard to explain. But because of that, most of us believe that life on earth is so much more precious. We usually try even harder to live life to it's fullest, because we don't have anything afterwards.

And for me, I'm only seventeen and I already feel pretty worn out. I imagine that 90+ years (average lifespan of my family) is a long enough time...I don't really need anything else after that.

We are energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be changed. I do not believe in a heaven or hell. I do not have a need to believe in anything other than death. However I did have an experience after my brother died and I truly believe that it was a visitation. I also know of 3 very level headed people who have also had ''experiences. Two of them are not religious at all. Beyond this I don't have a clue.

We only get one chance at life. That's what I believe. When you die, that's it. Your body just decomposes and becomes part of the earth. It really doesn't bother me though. I think it allows us to appreciate life more than those who believe in heaven. After all, if you really, truly believe in heaven, what is the problem with dying. You'd be going to a better place, right?

I believe that when you die, you're dead. Gone. Not here. Just like before you were born. If you were a good person, people will say good things about you, and if you weren't they won't. The absolute LAST thing I would ever want is eternal life ANYWHERE.

I don't like to think about what happens when we die, because I and obviously you and everyone else on here is not dead so we could not possible know what happens when we die! I will find out when I am dead!

The mind is a function of the brain. When your brains goes dead, "you" cease to be. So there is no you to live on in any other form. That's reality. Accepting life on life's terms is the secret to serenity.

I think the only claim you have on immotality is through children. Except for that effect of passing your genes on death is the end.

Interesting. No bias to the question. Yeah, if you die, that's it. No more you. Impossible to fathom, but that's why they made religion explain that away.
