i generally have a very low pain tolerance but i have one on my lower back and it barely hurt at all, so i was wondering what is the pain comparison for the two.

I have both a lower back and foot tattoo. By Far, the lower back hurt the least. The pain with a foot tattoo, in my opinion is very different that the lower back. With my foot, the pain was more of a sore type pain, where it hurt to put pressure on it for around 2-3 days after getting it done. Either way, if you really want a tattoo on your foot, i would say go for it! Just know that for about 2-3 days you will probably limp a bit but its all worth it in the end!

I have a lower back tattoo, and a very high tolerance to pain. My sister in law has one on the top of her foot and I asked her if it hurt and she said it wasn't too bad at all. I want to get one on the top of my foot as well. I have heard that its one of the most painful places to get tattooed though. Sorry I wasn't much help.

I have a frog with angel wings on my back and a red, white and blue heart on my right foot (2 days old). I would honestly say that my back hurt worse, because it took an hour and a half and my foot took about 5 minutes. The pain is different for each tattoo for every person. Good luck!

My girlfriend has both her lower back, and the top of her foot. She said that neither really hurt, but the lower back was not as bad as her foot. Mainly the top of the foot would be more noticeable due to the fact that the needle is bouncing off the bone. Where as the lower back is usually a little tougher. The only problem i can imagine, would be your spine. I am aware that tattoos on the spine can be fairly painful, but not unbareable. I would take my time, and decide what you really want to get before you jump right in. Considering you already have one on your lower back, if it does cover your spine at all, imagine the feeling of the needle as it bounced off the bone. Pretty comparative to the needle bouncing of the bone of your foot.

Hope that Helps.

i have a full back tattoo and both of my feet tattooed. i have a pretty high pain tolerance. the feet hurt more hands down. for the duration of the feet tattoos i was in agony. like jaw clenching grabbing the edge of my seat. one took two hours, the other two and a half. the only part of my back that hurt just as bad as my feet was my spine but it has been done in small sections over many months.

good luck!

well, I don't personally have these two types of tattoos (I have my whole chest area and the upper back) However, I went with my friend to get her foot done and she could hardly handle the pain. I also have another friend who has tons of tattoos and she said the top of the foot is one of the most painful. It is also one of the easiest to wear off, so the tattoo place will usually make you sign a waiver that says they won't guarantee the work.
