I think people can sometimes be too vain when it comes to prayer. God can't possibly answer every single one of our prayers. Sometimes the answer is no because it's for our own good. Agree?

Aren't you tired of atheists distorting this to attack us?

I don't really agree at all.
You've already gone the step to postulate that God can't possibly answer all your prayers.
Take this one step further to assume that it's possible that God never actually does.
I'm throwing an idea out here:
Is it not possible that all that happens in your life is through your own doing? Everything that happens is an effect of something that you have done. The simple THOUGHT of wanting something to happen could possibly have an effect on the outcome of the event in question. So prayer could indeed possibly just be another form of suggestion. You want it very badly, so your mind makes it so.
Atheists distort it because they don't understand your ability to blindly believe. It's not unusual, and it's not strange to me. I've often found myself to be the one behind the keyboard in many of those cases.
My beliefs have changed however, and I've realized that a peacably stated idea works much better than a viciously stated conviction.
That's just my two sense. :P

Though I'm an atheist, I do agree with you. If there is a God (in which case, I'd have a major kick to my pride in death...talk about eating sh**), I imagine that He'd be far too busy to answer EVERY person's prayers. And sometimes, there are lessons to be learned in bad events. Furthermore, people often pray for stupid, trivial things like cars and more money and they are not answered for obvious reasons (and are also considered sinful--gluttony, one of the seven deadlies).

Sometimes, people pray selflessly and are not answered. I, as an atheist, cannot comprehend a God allowing an eight year old child die of cancer after a life of suffering, with her parents begging and pleading for Him to allow their beloved daughter to live...But Christians believe that He has a reason. Or some of you say it was the devil's influence.

I think it's silly when atheists try to use prayer as a form of proof against God. Prayer was never meant to be a sure thing. God hears prayers, but he's not required to answer them, according to Christians.

I personally don't use this argument, but it would seem that god only answers prayers that are achievable by natural processes. I have never seen an "answered prayer" that was actually miraculous. Now, when someone re-grows a limb, I'll be interested in a discussion of prayer. Until then, there is no evidence that god answers prayers, either with a yes or a no.

I pray to my teapot. It always answers my prayer. 100% of the time. Although, sometimes the answer is no.

Can you not see how naive your argument is? You pray for something, and sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't that seem like the prayer and the event are unrelated.

Imagine I pray for an odd number on a standard dice and keep throwing it. Sometimes I get odd numbers, sometimes even. Does this mean there's a dice god that sometimes lets me have an odd number, and sometimes doesn't (for my own good), or does it mean that the result of the dice roll is entirely independent from my prayer, thus proving prayer ineffective?

For those prayer warriors that keep a prayer journal, it is very easy to see that God does answer all prayer. Sometimes, we Christians forget that God will answer our prayers, but He will answer them when He is good and ready. We need to be more patient. God's will also has to be looked at. Is what we are asking for, part of His will for us? YES, God does answer prayer.

We really need to feel sorry for those that persecute us. We have a loving God that we can go to at any time and know that He is always looking out for us. We also know that God is preparing a place for us right now. Their choice to not believe this, has ultimately lead them to a life with no hope for their future. We can only pray that their minds and their hearts be opened to the Truth.

no, I disagree, because there is no god.

Atheists aren't distorting anything to attack you. The inherent illogical nonsense of Christianity is its own worst enemy. You say there is a god, atheists say there is no god, so there is no attack on you by saying that your god doesn't answer your prayers.

Do you understand now? I know you disagree with what I said about the existence of your god, but do you understand the logic behind atheists' disagreement that prayers aren't answered? I think you do.

I agree up to "..can't possibly answer every single one of our prayers.." because He can do anything and everything. Don't limit the limitless. There is time enough for everything.

The answer is for our own good and for the good of others. And I am tired of people attacking, but no less than being goalie. The more you practice, the better you get. Just take a break now and then, a drink of life-giving water, and get back in that net!

while God does something, it potential by using His rules. God had enforced the regulation of "reason and result" in entire universe. If a guy does stressful artwork and gets first place in college. Then one among his fellows prays to God and gets first place next time, without doing stressful artwork. So what makes the regulation equivalent for each individual, like God continuously says he's justice. He has enforced the regulation of reason and result interior the entire universe, with prayers you're able to additionally artwork harder and that i'm beneficial you will get your prayers customary.

If God was omniscient and all powerful, he could answer everyone's prayers. That is just a lame excuse that ministers give when people think it's odd that their prayers are never answered.

The answer is always NO, because he's not there. He's imaginary.
