Ok, so i finished grad school in december and my parents are really pressing me to get a job and support myself. The thing is--- and I am in no way bragging here--- my parents have always had a lot of money and so it wasn't ever really necessary for me to work to make a living; so my question is, isn't it unfair for them *now* to insist I get a job even though they're more than capable of getting me an apt at little personal sacrifice to myself? Besides, most people wouldn't work if they had the choice, so isn't it better I not work and have free time to do things like read philosophy, listen to music, and go to interesting places (travel etc.)? Also, i'm 25 and while they said they'd never throw me out, my dad hinted that maybe i'd feel better if i got my own apartment and was independent; but the question is again, why work just to have your own place when there's enough room in their place for the three of us? am I really wrong here or are they just being unfair?? thanks!

Grow up honey, your parents aren't there for your personal ride. Yes, you are really wrong here, not to mention embarressing.

I think you are way out of line. You just graduated from graduate school, your parents have supported you for 25 years. It is time to get out on your own and do things for yourself. They need a break. Maybe they would like to quit worrying about your future for a few days!!!

That is how parents are they want the best for you always. Now it is time to show them you don't need them for the rest of your life and they can feel relieved.

You sound like a spoiled brat. Grow up and smell the coffee sister, your parents would be doing you a favor if they kicked you out on the curb.
