LOL- both Santa Claus and Jesus belong in the classification of fantasies that are supposed to make one happy.
But both fantasies actual limit the experiences we can have in our lifetime.
You mention that there were no video cameras or photographs to back up a claim that there was, in fact, a Jesus Christ. This is true. But by that argument, you can state that there were no video cameras or photographs to back up a claim that there was, in fact, a George Washington.
But there is more evidence that there was a George Washington than there was a Jesus Christ.
If you want us atheists to believe, here some things you can do for us. All these proofs can be found as miracles in your bible and are designed to eliminate any other causes of occurrence other than a faith in a Christianity.
1) Raise someone from the dead. Must be dead for more than 2 weeks.
2) Make a mountain move into the ocean with just prayer.
3) Walk on water.
4) Speak into tongues that he does not have any a priori knowledge of beforehand. I get to choose the language. Just to be certain that a polyglot does not fake "speaking in tongues".
5) Levitate. Move around while levitating. I get to choose the place.
6) Walk though walls. My choice.
7) Reappear from nothing. I get to choose the location.
8) Answer me a few questions about my grandfather's death. Just to check if you CAN communicate with a metaphysical being who knows everything. I get to choose the questions for you to answer.
You can, of course, make a video for your proof of the power and reality of Christianity.
Just make one video. Just one proof of evidence. That's all I ask.

Video and photos are not solid evidence. They are not even scientific. I could show you some fake UFO photos if you like.
The thing is, if the stories of the Bible were true, there would be some other tangible validation of them. The tax that sent Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem is recorded no where but the Bible, and it isn't even logical that they would have traveled to Bethlehem from Nazareth in the first place. The Slaughter of the Innocents is so horrible and horrific, that you would think that some one else would have written about it, but it doesn't appear anywhere else in the historical literature. There are no text, contempery with Jesus that support that he even lived.
There should be outside evidence, but there is none.

St. Nicholas replaced right into a real guy or woman. He replaced right into a no longer a fat guy who lived interior the North pole with elf slaves, ingesting cookies, and using around in a sleigh crammed with toys pulled via reindeer. this is Santa Claus. And Santa Claus isn't genuine. God is likewise no longer genuine. yet i assume i ought to analyze God to particularly some different issues...flying monkeys, fairies, gnomes, unicorns, Hogwarts.

because we're trying to explain to you how we see your god
you say jesus is real - as far as I;m concerned he's no more real than Santa Claus. your god and this jesus fellow are as real to me as Santa Claus - in fact less real, more like Zeus.
it's not that there's no scientific evidence there is NO CONTEMPORARY written evidence that this jesus person exist. No one at the time, including this jesus person made a note of anything that jesus supposedly did. In fact the whole jesus thing sounds suspiciously like several earlier god myths

The comparison to Santa Claus refers to the myth. Young children tend to believe what they are told, tooth fairy, Santa Claus, God, etc. When people mature and reason the evidence, they usually discard such myths, yet continue to perpetuate the brainwashing for the next generation. Most people 'believe' in God not based on facts, but by habit and the desire to want to believe it. That does not constitute 'proof'.

Don't insult others' intelligence or make yourself look ill-informed by pretending that anyone ever suggested that we need video evidence.
There's no evidence that prayer works, that god has ever intervened in natural processes, or that morality comes from anything other than naturally selected processes. None of those could be proven or disproven by video, but they are easily discussed and proved beyond reasonable doubt. That's sufficient for most atheists to deny the tenable belief in any deities.

There's solid evidence of Julius Cesar. No cameras or video equipment there. Also evidence for Egyptian Pharaohs. Your jesus is fiction. Your brainwashed. Sorry to tell you that.

Probably it's because Jesus and Santa Claus were born on the same day and people get them mixed up.

John D,
First of all, I am a Chritian like you. Atheists and anyone who does not believe in God will always compare Christ and it could be any fictional character.
Here is Psalm 14
The Fool Says, There Is No God
To the choirmaster. Of David.
14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
there is none who does good.
2 The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
to see if there are any who understand, [1]
who seek after God.
3 They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
there is none who does good,
not even one.
4 Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers
who eat up my people as they eat bread
and do not call upon the Lord?
5 There they are in great terror,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.
6 You would shame the plans of the poor,
but [2] the Lord is his refuge.
7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people,
let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
**But Jesus did not come to earth and tell people how foolish they were**
He came and he treated every man the same. The unsaved around him who had hard hearts were not chosen to be saved, but those who God chose were turned around. We all walk in darkness until God changes our heart. We chose God because he first chose us:
2 Thessalonians 2:13
But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits[1] to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
**And this verse always knocks my sock off, especially the last part**
Acts 13:48
And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
**Think about that, if someone is not appointed to eternal life, and God has not chosen to save them, then there is no use letting them drive you nuts**
You know who drives me nuts, SATAN and his decietfullness :-)
We are to love all mankind, not make peace with them!!!!! But to show them love. It is a commandment from God. We will never win people over or allow them to see God working us by rebuking them, we must be humble creatures and pray that God will change the hearts of men and use us as witnesses. It is okay to answer their questions with a Godly and correct answer.
If you want to see an example of a good but bad question, read the only question I have asked on my profile. It was not as straight forward, but it shows we all get defensive at times, and I am no exception to the rule.
If we Christians were all perfect we would not need Christ and be in Heaven with our God already.
If Atheists need a place to be wrong we should accept them with open arms, witness to them as best we can, ask God to change their hearts and allow us to work in them, and speak of God's forgiveness, cuz face it, none of us deserve to be saved anyhow. We would be tooting the same horn had God not shown us the light.

Well he's sure not walking around like some living man now is he? Grandma is not imaginary, people know she (their own) existed... this Jesus guy, well no one can be sure now can they? So he's pretty much imaginary at this point. Especially with all the people that say he's "living"...
