My friend just moved into an apartment and it has the grossest ala 1970 linoleum on the walls. She doesnt want to put any money into the place, but I thought if she could paint over it it would really make it so much nicer.

Its on the walls???? Funny place to put it, I thought that was for the floor. Painting would work fine if its on the wall because that gets no foot traffic. But if its on the floor no way. Talk to the folks at the paint store and they can find the right stuff for you and its a very cheap fix.

You probably can if you prime the walls with killz or something like that first. I painted paneling once and it turned out pretty good.
