If you really want to know about the Bible, the Bible is God's written Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

God had just rescued the jewish slaves who had no culture and no laws in place. He set this up to break them of any idolitry hangups that may have been carried over from Egypt !!! If you want a better grasp of Christianity go to the book of John in the New Testament !!! All questions should be asked with an open mind and holding to the position that the Bible is God's Word !!!

Remember, the scriptures were written by the men of thier time.A lot of the New Testament makes sense, but I'm with you. They can't have it both ways&it's up to us whether or not to believe in a jealous, wrathful God or a God of Love&Forgiveness?(I'm one of the latter,by the way)yes, the Bible can't be taken literally&it's down-right foolish to try.(But,that really hasn't stopped anyone, has it?)

The Bible is a book of fiction written by ancient men to try to teach people to behave. Some of the lessons are very violent and some are just plain ridiculous. I wouldn't take any of it to heart if I were you since it's not true.

The Bible does not lie
Nothing contradicts itself in the Bible.
The Bible is the word of God.
How can you possible say with no shame that God, your Creator, the Almighty, is a lier??
You are so wrong!!

The Bible, much like life is full of contradictions.
Keep in mind the Bible was not written by God, but by a bunch of misogynist and self-righteous men with their own agendas.

I think if the Bible were truly the word of God it would be timeless and free from contradictions, hate, sexism, violence, etc.

This is not news to most of us. The JC'ers will make excuses, the rational thinkers will say, "We know!"
