Why would he make sure Aunt Mabel's heart surgery goes well, but ignore the Holocaust?

Surely, millions prayed for his intervention during the Holocaust....

Because gods can only accomplish what their followers imagine they accomplished. Therefore, they will perform millions of trivial, tiny personal miracles, but one should never expect real world results for things that don't involve the believer. Reality doesn't play mind games.

Hi,

The Holocaust was terrible.

Millions prayed for there life, many millions prayed that the world would see these acts of evil, many millions prayed that this would never happen again.

I think God answered 2 of three.

People pray, there is no one listening, and the millions of prayers that were prayed for the victims of the Holocaust were simply words whispered into the air.

People do cruel things, Mother Nature wreaks natural disasters, and people pray. Why do they pray? Some think it will work.

It doesn't. But hope springs eternal.

What I hate is the news covering disasters like the Minneapolis bridge collapse, they show an "inter-faith" service (with surprisingly little Muslim wailing or Hindu harmonium and tabla music, i.e. none), and God will somehow help the spirits of the departed.

Or when a tornado or earthquake hits and they interview some guy who "thanks God" he came out alive and his house was barely touched -- but they don't show the equally religious neighbour whose skull was crushed beyond all imagining...

When will these Christians get it? The random universe is RANDOM! They cover their butts in scripture by saying the sun shines on the good and the evil man alike...

just shows how narcissistic humans are. They assume that God listened to their prayer, out of the billions of people praying simultaneously, and granted it while ignoring billions of other prayers. Instead of assuming they got what they wanted by chance and it had nothing to do with the fact that they happened to pray about it

It seems to me that prayer was answered- it's not happening anymore in Germany now, is it? God had to kick the US in the backside by Japan to get us involved in the war so we would stop the genocide.

Ignore the Holocaust? What do you mean he doesn't intervene in genocide? Are you aware that the United States and our allies in WW2 crushed the nazis and axis powers? Are you aware at all of the millions of people of faith all around the world who are doing God's work in trying to solve these awful problems? God works through us, his people and counts on us to spread his love through our good works. Loving God and loving humanity and loving yourself is all the same thing. This is God we're talking about, not Santa Claus. God's mandate through his Son Jesus Christ is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Stop blaming God for the evil that Man perpetrates. I will forgive the foolishness of this question because you sound as if you are only ten or eleven years old and should be cut some slack.

Well first of all people have to pray to him first, Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the father except through me. Unless people are praying through Jesus the Father does not hear them.

It is not Jesus time yet to act. He will soon step in and cleanse the earth of all evil...and when he does even the ones that were unmercifully killed will rise again.

Sometimes I think for the most part everything is how it is meant to be. Occasionally there is a glitch and god fixes it. I have to believe there is a god.
