After a couple of years on yahoo (between the old yahoo news boards, and now yahoo answers) reading post's from the evangelical atheist's I believe I have what it takes to convert and become one of them.
The way I figure it all I have to do to be a good evangelical atheist is obsess about something I claim to not believe in, quote scripture out of context, tell others what it is they believe and don't believe in as Christians, build nonsensical arguments based on circular logic, and tell everyone that chooses to have a faith (especially Christians) that they are not only stupid, but mentally weak.
So, now that I know the requirements of being a yahoo evangelical atheist, am I ready to convert?

You even got the sarcasm down!
AND...you know how to spell atheism!
...but hmmm...let me see...
Are you read to demand endlessly for proof...and talk about how you have no burden of proof...?
Can you give me a few examples of two twisted, misinterpreted, or even mistranslated scripture verses that supposedly "contradict" and ignore all evidence otherwise?
Are you ready to complain about how people mispell athiesm?
When you are unable to answer a question or refute a truth, are you still able to answer a question with some witty humor, or at least shift focus - even, perhaps resorting to name-calling or other immature defense mechanism?
I just can't say for sure whether you are ready, yet...
I'm sorry.
And something is amiss...
You betray yourself by talking about "converting"...which makes me think you are NOT ready...
Instead of using the word convert, try one of these approaches:
"I finally grew up...or left those childish ways..."
"I finally left those stone-age myths...or came out of the cave..."
"I finally got an education..."
Because if you are a "good" evangelical atheist, you wouldn't talk about "converting"...you'll just allude to how you "wisened up" or "evolved" beyond religion...

Try thinking of yourself as a "god" a little more...and imagine that you are smarter than any other so-called "god"...

First of all, define evangelical atheist?
The word "evangel" means to spread the good news or the Gospel in websters dictionary.

Now, If you think atheism is evangelical, think again.
There is nothing evangelical about Atheism. Why? All they ever gawk about is one thing, There is no God!
Atheism is not evangelical. And since when and Why did Atheists copied evangelism anyways?

Ouch! I'm not Atheist but that still hurts-----I'm not sure what an evangelical atheist is but if I was one, I'd probably be offended by your generalization. Christians don't like it when Atheists generalize about them as a group, yet you have done the same thing! So maybe you are ready to convert----Peace and Blessings!

But the big question is do you believe that inanimate matter self-organized and came alive all by itself and that your distant ancestors were ape like creatures and that a violent explosion resulted in an orderly universe which is the primary cause of all of this?

I think the message of Christ's forgiveness starts to make sense once you come to the end of yourself and see yourself who you are.
He does that to people, removes masks, and then gives life eternal.

You will make a great convert when yu realize the truth. YOU are a spirit INSIDE A BODY OF FLESH. Your flesh will die and rot. Your spirit will live SOMEWHERE 4 ever.
