That depends on where your are thinking of getting it, the closer to the bone the more pain you will encounter.

the pain you will feel is more of an annoying feeling, not really pain. go in feeling relaxed, if you are tense it will hurt more. dont be afraid to take breaks, although it could be harder to get back into it after you take a break and artist charge by the hour, so you will pay more the more breaks you take.

when they have to go over a certain spot more than once it can start to hurt, but its not intolerable.

make sure you eat before you get it done, go in relaxed and prepared for pain. i found that helped me, because my expectations of pain was SO high, and my tattoos did not hurt at all. just an annoying feeling, and the sound of the gun got to me at some points :-).

You are getting a needle shoved into your skin at a rate of about 500 pokes per minute and then it shoves ink into the open wound. No... it doesn't hurt at all...

Of course it hurts! But depending on where the tattoo is, how intricate it is, how large it is, the colors, and your pain tolerance and how much caffiene you drink, it will hurt more or less depending on the person. I have the exact same tattoo in the exact same place as one of my friends and hers hurt a lot more than mine did.

The outlining hurts more than the coloring. It feels like a needle being scraped into the skin.

Of course it hurts...but not that bad!

It hurts alot less on bone than it does on muscle!

Also, the outline is quite painful, but the rest is just tingly!

If it hurt that bad, nobody would get one!!

to me, its just a slightly painful tickle, but i have a high pain tolerance, the only place i have ever really been in pain from was my spine, my ribs. boney parts hurt most. and dont drink caffine 24 hrs prior you most likely wont bleed at all if you follow that, it has worked for me and i bleed for 30 mins after doing my blood testing.

depends on where it is. I got one on my back and it didn't hurt that much until he started to go over my spine. That hurt..but not to where I would cry or scream or anything. They can numb it if you can't take pain though.

It's more annoying than anything. Feels like a repetitive mosquito bite that burns, almost.

Yes, the needle hurts when it sticks you.

It is not horrible.

no. it's mostly just annoying. it can hurt at times...but i mean, that's to be expected. you're getting needles jabbed into your skin a million times.
