I don't know what to do with my old bras; I have many, they just don't fit me anymore, but are still usable. I'm thinking about donating them, to Vietnam Veterans or something, but I'm afraid it isn't appropriate.. I dunno.. What do you think?

Oh, that Vietnam Veterans thing is the only one I can think of, because they are the only who come by every year..

i've seen some at goodwill before...just give them the best washing you can and drop them off there.
i really don't think it's appropriate at all but if they are still usable you might as well.
maybe you can ask everyone if they know something you can make out of your old bras?
:)
(p.s. why vietnam vets?!)

Call the police station or your chamber of commerce and ask them about where you donated them for victims of domestic violence as these women usually flee with hardly anything if they can get out at all. Almost all ares have a women's shelter that isn't advertised to protect the women and children in these situations. You can also call or contact Habit For Humanity, they are alot better (in this area anyway) about helping out than some more well known charities. People who have lost everything except their lives will be grateful to you for recycling them!

certainly any time you give something of yourself ,you no longer need or use...is a wonderful and very generous thing...i can see your point because of the nature of the garments lol..and certainly i would stop there with the bras unless you can offer any unopened packages the rest of under clothes would be far too personal to share even as a generous gift ...unless it be a boyfriend ...to capture attention ...anyhow i think it a kind and wonderful gesture and i am sure the person recieve such a gift would be very grateful....after all look at the prices they charge in retail for the items..i think you are most kind ....

I understand what you mean, but I think unless the bra was in just about new condition, you probably should throw it away or give it to your daughter, mother, sister or something like that, but I wouldn't donate it unless its absolutely new looking. This is a very personal item and it is not appropriate to try and sell or donate a used one, in my opinion, that is.

I suppose you could try Goodwill or the Salvation Army. They wash clothing before they put it up for sale. I have a whole drawer full of hardly worn bras and you just gave me an idea.
Thanx.

www.breasttalk.co.uk have a charity appeal for people to donate old but usable bras to homeless women in the UK and women living in a country where the price of a bra is more than a meal for their family so I'd reccomend sending them there, not sure where you're from but they accept bras from the anywhere in the world
http://www.breasttalk.co.uk/bra-appeal/
They also have a forum you can check out http://forum.breasttalk.co.uk/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=14

You could always call Goodwill or Salvation Army and ask if they would accept them if they are clean and in good condition. If they will not take them ask if they have any ideas of anyone who would be able to use them as you hate to throw them away if someone else could benefit.

Yes but not to the veterans, maybe to goodwill. I'm sure some veterans shop there.

How about giving them to a woman's shelter or to a charity store such as the Salvation Army or Goodwill.
