Rats are omnivores - they'll eat (and thrive on) just about anything.

I used to feed mine dog food all the time -- but it was a good kind, with no corn in it (the first ingredient in most dog foods is "ground yellow corn") - corn causes tumors in rats.

Anyway, sure, the guinea pig food ought to be ok for a day or so. Also, bread, veggies, and probably whatever you had for dinner would work, too.
.

OH - avoid the "light" lettuces, esp. iceberg, as it will give your rat diarrhea. Cucumbers, too. Dark green veggies (romaine lettuce, broccoli, spinach, greens) are great for them, though.

Guinea Pig food will work for the night as will some fresh veggies or cooked chicken or turkey, even some meat based baby food is good for them. Just be sure to get some tomorrow. Don't feed them anything too salty or sweet. They can have some fruit as well.

No, a rat can't survive on guinea pig food. But they can eat dry dog food, birdseed, bread, cereal, and most other human foods, including meat and cheese. But get the rat food soon, because it is a balanced diet.

if you not sure just feed them fresh stuff till you go shopping - ham, chicken, fresh veg and salad will be fine.

If you have gp food on hand, i dont think it would hurt them for just a day. Otherwise, I'd be more likely to just give them some of what I had for my own dinner. They'll be fine.

I am assuming you are trying to take care of rats. They will eat anything. You could give them bread, dried noodles, cheese, leftovers anything you would eat, and many things you wouldn't. Don't sweat it.

I don't think the cat will eat it.
I would run to the convenience store & pick up some real cat food.
If you can't get to the store - just wait til morning. He won't die but he'll probably drive you insane all night.
