Does anyone know of a good open-minded liberal church in Atlanta?

Preferably methodist...? All the ones we've had experiences with have bashed on gays and muslims, and coming from more liberal parts of the US it's been a big turn off. Any suggestions?

By "bash" I mean that apparently they preach about them being sinners and "their" God being a God of hate and preaching hate. This isn't for me, I don't really go to church, I posted this question for my friend.

St. Mark's United Methodist church in Atlanta is as liberal as a Methodist church can get. Especially open and understanding toward people that the UMC aren't usually too accepting . The website is http://stmarkumc.org/. I haven't been there though, but from what I understand, it's nearly a gay majority. So it may be a little more liberal than your were looking for, but liberal nonetheless...

I am curious what you mean by "bash".

Atlanta, GA. is in the heart of the "Bible Belt" not known for being liberal. After all, they helped to elect Bush.

I am a Christian and I know I'd have a hard time with the non-Biblical ideals they try to tout as Biblical. The one that gets me the most is that women cannot preach.

I agree yet all of us could be that way. while you're liberal and obdurate on your perspectives, then only say it. do not declare to be open-minded, God is conventional with i'm not approximately some issues. i'm a obdurate conservative and a few issues I only wont substitute my techniques on, i think of all of us can agree that there are issues we only arent keen to compromise on. Yeah it pisses you off yet in the tip that's ok. State your opinion, be kind and considerate while giving it, and extra human beings will pay attention you out have confidence me.
