What is the training like? How far do you have to run? What do you have to do? How many situps, pullups, pushups? What is it like in the first week? What can I expect?

FYI, I'm moderatley athletic, I run several miles every day and do some push ups and situps, and I can run 3 miles in 19:30-22min.

And how do I fit the 13 wk basic training in with college? That is what I'm really wondering.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqbw3AH-Fyo..your running is fine, just work on your upper body strenthg, pushups, bar dips sit ups, pull ups...when you do pull up make sure your chin clears the bar and that your arms lock out when you come down, if not it does not count...dont stress the physical stuff, it sounds like your ready, because of fear and stress you will be physycaly ready, the mind games is impossible to train for, just always remember that it is not personal, and just push your self, many have done what you are about to go after, dont let us down, you are the next generation of Devil Dogs....good luck and Semper Fi

Sounds like you are in decent shape, your run time needs to improve; not to worry though, before it's over you will be able to pass the PFT. They will start you out slow and move you toward passing the test. I used to run 6-7 miles or more at a time and it makes the 3 mile run seem like a breeze. It's the same boot came as AD Marines.

Your trick is going to be in keeping in shape while in college. Better go to boot camp during the summer, because once you're there it's a fast pace.

The first week is designed to keep you on the move. You won't have time to think about much and you won't get a lot of sleep, that's on purpose. You will get yelled at a lot and rushed around. Take advantage of the chaplains and worship opportunities, it's the only peace and quiet you'll get and you'll need it.

1st you've got to realize in recruit training they treat active duty and reserves the same, the 1st week, is designed to show you that they're in charge and you need them more than they need you, every thing you think you know will change, my 1st day my senior drill instructor, said the sky was purple, and by the time training was over the sky looked very purple every day, this will be the most mentally challenging thing most people will ever endure, the physical part sucks but you sound like you can handle, pull-ups is the key, shave 2 mins off your run time and you won't have any problems

You will have to do it in the summer or take a semeter off. You're 3 mile time is pretty good...just keep running and working out.

Finish college and get your commision.

well if you're already in shape, you need not worry about the physical part. what you have to do is get ready for the mental aspect of it all... i've seen perfectly fit guys break down and cry on day one. check it out, what you have to figure out is that they're just doin a job. they're gonna yell and get up in your face. its gonna seem like there pickin on you but you have to keep that mindset that they're just doin a job.
about college im not too sure but if you have a degree i suggest you go officer.

Get tough and centered because the system will tear you down physically, mentally and emotionally, before they rebuild you into a lean, mean fighting machine. Semper Fi!
