The lumps are on the back of her neck, not on the side near her throat.

I would get another doctor's opinion, lumps on the neck don't seem normal to me.

Sounds like probably swollen lymph glands.

These are usually just below the hinge of the jaw.

They are the glands that get very swollen with the mumps, but can get swollen whenever teh body is fighting infection.

The ones in the neck get swollen particularly with ear and hroat infections.

I guess it is just the normal nimb nodes...nothing to worry about.
