Example: You are not attracted to the person in the first place. Can one bypass that impression and make "friends" with that person with a second impression? Usually, people will go with looks first, then cross out the chance of second impression.

It depends on what the first impression was based on.
If it were just looks, then yes second impressions deserve another chance.
If it's just a feeling you get, then my 1st impressions are always right.

It is certainly possible. My first impression with a girl didn't go well. But now we've been married for almost eleven years.
