Are you realy so week minded and pathetic that if you did have some abscure beliefe to define your exsistance or personality your life would be with out meening or or comonality? Why don't you understand that there are other religoius posibilities besides your own? There are houndreds of other alternative religions in the world. Can you truley be so arogent as to say that with an over 99% chance that your'e faith is wrongly justified, that your the less then 1% that is right? If that isn't bad enough you try to impose your "rules" via reilgius opresion based on "rules" made up from a beliefe that may or may not be right. It would be like me saying I belive chicken goes bad after two hours and making a rule that no one should eat chicken after an hour just cause I beleive to be so. If you consider your self religius then you have allready taken a BELIEF to far. Prove me wrong. I'm waiting.

Are you (REALLY) realy so (WEAK) week minded and pathetic that if you did have some (OBSCURE) abscure (BELIEF) beliefe to define your (EXISTENCE) exsistance or personality your life would be with out (MEANING) meening or (COMMONALITY) comonality? Why don't you understand that there are other (RELIGIOUS) religoius (POSSIBILITIES) posibilities besides your own? There are (HUNDREDS) houndreds of other alternative religions in the world. Can you (TRULY) truley be so (ARROGANT) arogent as to say that with an over 99%chance that (YOU'RE) your'e faith is wrongly justified, that your the less then 1% that is right? If that isn't bad enough you try to impose your "rules" via (RELIGIOUS) reilgius.
And with those corrections I say - get a life, stick with the books, learn to type, write, spell, and read - then ask us a question!

Of course what some people consider to be wrong others wouldn't. The meaning of the word "wrong" like the word"good" can change , depending on the context in which it is used. For instance, consider this, Walter shot his mother-in-law at a range of 1000 metres. It was a "good" shot but "wrong" for him to do it. Maybe Walter didn't think it was wrong. There most certainly is a distinct right from wrong rule in almost everything. You open a screw jar by turning the cap in the "right" direction, not by smashing it open with a with a hammer, that would be clearly wrong .A simple definition for "wrong" is normally incorrect or untrue, although when used to describe human or even animal behaviour then the word could be classified as an opinion rather than a fact. The discussion could continue indefinitely but I think it would be "wrong" to do so.

Religion is a word man created to try to define spiritual beliefs. Of course I have heard people say something like "Oh, he's religious about having his coffee out of a cup he got as an award for working here for 10 years. He has to have his coffee out of that cup or he won't have coffee at all". Religion is just a word, it is what you believe or don't believe in as far as the spiritual realm that is important and the spiritual realm does exist. But religion should be the last thing to anger you man.

Countries have forced their citizens to go by rules regardless of having some sort of religious belief or not.
Perhaps you are concerned by:

Anarchism without adjectives, Anarcho-primitivism, Communism, Social anarchism, Dictatorships, Philosophical anarchism, Marxism, to name a few.

I believe these types of political leadership are much more to be concerned over the the week minded religious people you speak of. If you lived in a country ruled by one of the above styles of government you would probably be in a prison or worse once the big brothers of censorship found what you have written and hunted you down like a dog. But of course it doesn't take much bravery to lash out a such a broad term as religion. Ask the college students in China, the ones who survived that is, their governments reaction to their protest in Tiananmen Square in 1989. You are so angry, go do some research on the many countries that still exsist today where the citizens obey the RULES of their radical leaders, rules that have nothing to do with religion, or they will be gunned down. Please ask us a question that addresses the massive bloodshed by rulers who are only influenced by greed, power and hatred. I'm waiting......

Other religious possibilities, interesting. As a Muslim I do believe in Islam 100% I don't push anyone to follow Islam if they don't want to, but I am more then happy to answer any questions to my best knowledge if anyone is ever interested. So as far as imposing Islam on others, no, that doesn't take place. Islam gives my life meaning and I do not feel that this makes me weak minded or pathetic, in fact I think quite the opposite and if someone judges me as thinking it makes me weak, then that is their opinion ... and that too doesn't bother me. We each have our own opinions. Why do you ask people to prove your wrong? Is it that you have doubts in the fact that you feel there is something "wrong" with religious people? If this is what you believe then go with it, but I think if you stopped worrying and judging what others believed then you could start focusing more on your own path and where your own faith lies, and insha'allah you figure it out.

I'm not religious.
I'm spiritual.

But you, are an ignorant person who over-generalizes and obviously seems to hold a grudge against spell-check.

What is wrong with athiests that they get so threatened by people who are religious. I have a deep faith in God - how does that affect you and why would it bother you? Why do you invest to much energy in trying to prove religious people wrong? Are you afraid that maybe we might be right?

2007-08-05 15:56:59 · answer #8 · answered by Rob 5 · 2 2

Let me say first that many athiests are as dogmatic and irrational as christians.

But, our minds are hard-wired for magical thinking. Modern people can sublimate this magical thinking into art, fiction or even science fiction. Religious people are able to disconnect their rational minds to allow magical, patently impossible beliefs to dominate their lives. Or maybe it's better to say their unable to bring logical thought to bear on their magical beliefs.

Magical beliefs are common in children. Some adults learn to overcome that thought system and attain higher levels of cognition. Some are not.

The thing with religious people is that they let their religion blind their faith, there is a difference. I know some faith-based Christians and they are some of the nicest people I know. But the religious people out there are the ones who will inherent the Earth...so remember, religion is the root of evil, along with cash.
