Religion just creates a way for people to search how, why, and who they are without having the proper tools to help them discover the truth for themselves.
There is only one person I believe has had what you call "divine revelation." He is different from the rest of the so-called "leaders" of religions because he does not want praise or glory or honor or money. He teaches that the ONLY thing a person needs to do in this life is one thing:
Do unto others what you would want them to do unto you.
The proof is in the books--one he tranlated called The Sealed Portion, the Final Testament of Jesus Christ and the other one he wrote explaining ALL of Revelation--with the claim that John taught him what it all meant. (I disagree with amulet's answer; I understand everything in Revelation now.)
I would not have believed it myself if I hadn't read the books. The proof is in the pudding.
Pretty much every other religion I know of began with a true prophet teaching the truth, and us (humans) messing it up and making it into the "precepts of men." This is explained very well in the Sealed Portion.

Read the course in miracles.
It is a guide book that teaches the how and why of divine revelation.

I believe the Bible is a divine revelation from God.I am a Christian.

Chrisitans are personal witnesses of the living God touching their hearts and changing their lives. Religions are our attempts to reach God. Christianity is God revealing Himself to us. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Yes, thousands of people heard Jesus speak.
Over 500 saw Jesus after he was crucified, dead, buried then rose from the dead.
