Or is it simply that they are too insecure within themselves to allow anyone other than themself to be God?

I think if they are hoenst they would admit to it being the second possibility.

how could I hate something that i believe doesn't exist...I don't think I am a God, because for that, again, I would have to believe there is a god.

Religion is a choice. It usually is what beliefs have been instilled in you as a child. Not always. Atheists do not hate God they cannot have any feeling against something they do not believe exists. They feel that you are born and you die. When you die you are the same as before you were born. You go back to the earth as you came. Dust to dust ashes to ashes. You become dirt just like every other living thing on this planet when it dies. I am not an athesists myself but I am familiar with the religion and have had to be subjected to many debates over friends and their religion. People just need to keep religion to themselves. That is what is wrong with this world and all the wars. Everyone believes that their religion is right and want to force the world to convert to their beliefs. It has been going on for hundreds and hundreds of years and adventually everyone on this planet will kill each other over religion. That's my theory!!!!

Atheists are controlled by the God of this world...they have no clue how they are being used. They have shut off their connection with God, hardened their hearts so they can't understand the truth when they hear it. There is still hope, but the further they fall away, the less likely it is that they will ever listen.

But every once in a while, someone will get the message. They make that spiritual connection,,once they get over how much smarter and more enlightened they are, and they really want the truth...they can find it.

so if someone doesn't agree with you they are insecure? some atheists I know are very kind because they like people in general, I believe but I do not need to MAKE others do anything. some people are dishonest in general and it has nothing to do with being atheists. If you believe in God, spend time loving others different than yourself. God is the judge, remember?

That is very narrow-minded. Atheists don't hate God because they don't believe there is a God and it would be irrational to hate what does not exist. What they hate is that some people delude themselves with false beliefs and uncritical reasoning and then expect everyone else to accept nonsense as truth.

It actually takes someone very secure in his or her logic and thought process to reject the idea of God when there are others telling them that they will go to hell for not believing.

FOR THE LAST TIME.... How can we hate something that we don't believe exists? For atheists, the question doesn't even warrant an answer. It's like saying, "you hate unicorns and that is why you don't believe in them." The only reason we deny the existence of god is that there is absolutely no good reason to believe that a god exists. That is all. Stop trying to belittle us.

It's really a waste of emotional energy to hate something that you don't even believe exists. A reasonable analogy/comparison would be to accuse you of hating Santa Clause, who I'm hoping, for the sake of your question, you don't still believe in. Assuming you don't believe in Santa Clause, why would you hate him? It would be pointless. People only get emotional about things they believe in; loved ones, friends, Gods and personal goals on the one hand, and enemies, obstacles and the losses they experience in life on the other hand.

Sorry Rev. I just say that God does not exist because honestly God does not exist.
I doubt if you would ever be able to grasp that concept. I am thinking about how to make it clear to you.

Have you ever read the story of the Emperors New Clothes?
It is a bit like that.
Except that if the Emperor was a Christian he would have ordered the kid burnt at the stake or flayed alive.

Didn't you post this question earlier? If not you, then someone did. If God doesn't exist, how can we hate him? That makes no sense. You are just putting your spin on our beliefs. I not only do not believe in YOUR god, I also do not believe in anyone else's god. I think it's kind of funny that you can't accept that we really don't believe in your god...that we think all gods are imaginary. You only believe in your god. You don't believe in other gods. Wouldn't you have to admit that their gods are a second possibility by your rationale? I just believe in one less god than you.

But of course. Just look at their answers - bitter, cold, heartless, sarcastic, hard hearted. Why all the anger????

They can't see beyond their own noses. They think thast life is all about the flesh not realizing that true life is spiritual in nature.

The y want to be their own gods just like Satan promised Adam and Eve in the garden. They love the flesh and the world, they love darkness more than the light.

BUT....

Rom 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Atheists don't believe in God. They can't hate something they don't believe in. The atheists I know here and in real life don't think of themselves as God.
