What would cause green snot to come out of your 3 month old pup's nose?

It only came running during his second trip in the car(he loves car rides) and quit the rest of the day and night.

Distemper can cause a green discharge from the nose, but it gets much worse than that, and a lot of pups die from it.On the other hand,it could be a sinus infection or a foreign body in the nasal cavity. All of these conditons require a vet's treatment. You 'd better get the puppy to a vet asap.

Green snot is usually a sign of respiratory infection. I would ask your vet about it to be sure though. I've never noticed nasal discharges from dogs on car rides before.

Take him to the Vet. Any kind of "colored" snot - green, yellow, whatever is not a healthy sign. A round of anitobiotics may clear it up but if it's more than that, the Vet will be able to let you know.

yep, all these are right answers.
As soon as the snot or mucus becomes colored there is an infection. clear is fine., and even white isnt worrisome, but yellow and definatly green are cause for concern.
go see the vet.

Your dog has an infection, probably a upper respiratory infection. Your vet will put them on flagel or bacrum, (sp?) I saw a lot of this when I worked at a puppy store.

i was going to suggest mucus. an upper respiratory infection. but it went away? you might want to call a vet and ask them if this is serious enough to warrant a visit. humhumhum. don't take a chance. at least make the phone call. best of luck.
