hmm, a little bit more information from you would help - where does she do poo if not in the toilet? Is she holding on to it?
I helped toitlet train my cousin, she was having the exact same problem, she would ask for a nappy to be put on so she could do a poo. We discovered that she didn't like sitting on the toilet for too long because it was too hard and also she was afraid of the splash! (haha) So we wrapped some handtowels around the seat, and put a wad of toilet paper in the bottom of the toilet and sat her there and i painted her tow nails while she sat there which was very exciting for her and she did her first poop on the toilet. She was so proud of herself! and never had a problem again. As a childcare worker, i have also toilet trained children by reading to them on the toilet, it helps to relax them and then the poop just happens. Good luck! Oh... and with the preschool thing, it she hasn't trained by then, she will probably just hold onto her poop til she gets home so don't stress too much about the time frame - she might feel your urgency in the matter and this won't help the situation.

First is she in underwear or a pull up?
Second is the potty a little one on the floor or is she using the adult potty?
Third does she have a tell when she is going poop?

1. She needs to be in underwear so she knows what she is doing when she is doing it (with poop they usually know anyway, this does still help) If she is in underwear and continues to poop then 2 tricks I would first try buying a special pair of underwear (she picks them out so she is proud of them) preferably with a character on them. Then tell her *character* doesn't want poopy on them, and they will have to go in the trash if you poopy in them. Second trick - if you know for certain she is being defiant and just stubborn not going poop in the potty then when she goes in the underwear she is in charge of changing herself. She has to take off the poopy underwear clean her bottom (with a check from Mom or dad) and throw the underwear away or throw the poop in the potty and the underwear where Mom or Dad can wash it. This takes much longer than if Mom or Dad changes her and if she likes play is usually the answer for a stubborn child. It's not as neat and clean as if you change them, but hopefully it only happens once or twice.

2. To go poop in a potty a person must have leverage on the floor. So no matter where you have her going potty you must have a stool or something that she can place her feet on (like an adult can on a regular toilet) to push against to get the poop out. (Really think about it next time you go!)

3. Most children have a tell when they are going poop. If your daughter hides when she is going then she not only knows what she is doing but when she is doing it!

Other tricks:
M&M for every poop on the potty
Sticker chart sticker for each poop, x number of stickers gets a new pair of undies.

Be patient and don't pressure are the two most important things. My three year old daughter is going through the exact same thing now. She is getting better, a lot better though. Don't use laxatives or anything unusual, it's only going to make her uncomfortable with it all and just confuse her more. Like someone else on here said, they tend to do the #2 around the same time every day. Mine also tends to give other clues like holding her but and wandering off to do it in private. Best thing is to catch them (calmly, don't get all excited) while they have just started. Cuz then you can say, "Do you have to go poopy?", and they will say yes of course, then just pick them up and carry them to the potty and sit them down, then they can finish there. Then clean underwear and a lot of praise will go a long way. =) good luck to you

I'm in the same boat! My little girl is almost 3, and will regularly pee in the potty, but has only pooped 2x. Both times she was naked in the house, and she knows that she can't go poop on the floor, so I guess it was the only option for her at the time. Other times, she has asked to put a diaper on so that she could poop. I'm not quite at a point of getting rid of diapers entirely, she isn't 100% with pee yet, but you could try that. You could just tell her no more diapers for poo, we only go poo in the potty. I don't know, but goodluck!

well, first of all, don't pressure her.
for some reason this seems to be the hardest thing for most kids...pooping in the toilet. part of it may be because of constipation (and they associate the pain of a hard poo with the toilet). just keep encouraging her. if she has a tell-tale sign that she's ready to poop, try to get her onto the toilet ASAP. (one of ours used to hide behind a chair every time he had to poop)

good luck!

My son went through the same thing for a few days (possibly a week or two), he would pee but not poop in the toilet. I kept telling him, "You have to go poopie in the toilet now, not in your pamper." I had him watch while I dumped his poo from his pamper into the toilet and had him flush it down. (TMI). That seemed to help.

You can't rush her. I can't be much help for your situation, but you have to let her do it on her own. Most kids are just afraid of pooping in the potty. It might be awkward for you but let her watch you poop in the potty so she can she there is nothing to worry about.

Is she excited about going to pre-school?? Do she want to go so she can play with the other kids??
I told my son if he wanted to go to school and play with the other kids he would have to poop in the toilet. Those were the magic words. He has been going every since.

She probably goes BM at about the same time each day. (Give her some raisins to help it along.) Try putting her on the potty before that time and read a book or play a game while she sits there. When the inevitable happens, praise her copiously.
