That depends upon which state you're in. Some states with "tax free" weekends limit the break to clothing only while others offer it to certain school supplies. And not all states offer the break so it may not apply to you at all. Since you didn't mention what state you're talking about, it's not possible to answer your question.

The tax free weekend was for clothes and shoes, only and only up to $100 so you save less then ten dollars. I don't think it's really that great of a deal, especially if you have to be in O.K. to get the discount.

Here in Georgia it was $20 worth of school supplies (paper,notebook, etc), $100 worth of clothes, and $1500 of computer and computer accessories. There were probably other things but I thought it interesting that such small amounts for clothes and supplies.

It depends on the state you're in, and the items you're buying. Only certain things are tax-free, go to cbs.com it will tell you.

Some people mistakenly thought it was "NO TAX" day. Here it was local tax, or 4%
