Many times we are very busy parents doing our own thing, and our children sometimes seek our attention.
"What is it?" We asked irritably.... example.
I think we all been at this stage a few times, forgetting our place in the family. seems to happen more when something goes wrong, the job, bills, working on the house, stress or anything that keeps you busy.

That's something you need to take up with God. We all have our stresses and strains; some have more than others. The best thing to do is have a "family night" one day out of the week where you spend time with the fam' and watch DVDs or play board games.

My wife and I married to have and raise a family. She stayed home and I went to work. The children had their mother all day and me as well when I came in from work. The principle task, however, was raising well adjusted children. We planned it and it worked. Why did you get married?

It's definately not God's will for one of his servants to neglect family. That's scriptural too.
"If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." 1 Timothy 5:8
Even though this passage is referring to monetary/physical needs...Same concept applies.
God Bless.

It is the duty of the parents to bring up their children, and nurture and admonish them to the knowledge God.
A father's ministry is his family, in case the father is not around the mother should do it...
