first try to eliminate or decrease sugars and carbs....seriously cut back on sodas, sweet teas etc...
increase water intake, as well as fruits, vegetables and lean protein
do some form of cardio everyday for at least 30 minutes or more if you are able...
do muscle strengthening exercise...essential to combine both cardio and strength training...if you want to burn fat and increase muscle tone.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.

get a gym membership. there are a lot of benefits. you can use all their equipment for about $30-$40 a month. shop around a little bit. a good gym will have all the treadmills, ellipticles, weights and machines to work out every muscle in your body. they'll probably have some good fitness magazines to give you some advice and something to do during a break (take a 20 minute break between 30 minute workouts for best fat burning results). there need to be some trainers there who will give you some help and free advice. a gym is the best way to go for a full workout. buying your own equipment is expensive and impractical. where would you put that treadmill and weightbench and will you get your $1000 dollars out of it? probably not. you would have to workout on a $400 treadmill (cheap compared to the ones at your local gym) for about a year for it to be economical. you can go walking and get a decent, but slow to show, workout, but a gym is a social, air conditioned, enviornment, with plenty of water, gatorade and protein/energy bars and drinks on hand. and don't forget a little bit of a diet. (whole wheat, lite foods, protein, etc.)

I just started an excercise program called P90X.It's a 90 day home workout program. It's an hour long workout everyday. The only thing you have to buy are the videos and less than $50 worth of equipment. I've been on it for 2 weeks now and am already seeing the results. There's a great vareity of workouts in the program inculding Yoga, Kenpo, as well as your usual workouts of arms, legs, back, shoulders, etc. It's really a nice combination. There's a different workout everyday, so I never really get bored.

Go running. Experts say that running/ jogging is one of the best cardiovascular exercises because it burns so many calories in such a small amount of time.
To get more definition, start weight training. There are many beginner exercises that can tone muscle and give you a start.
best of luck!

shutting your mouth would be a very successful way. This avoids food reaching your stomach, wich later is fat.
Hope it helps
