Cable. If it's cloudy or rainy or snowy outside you lose your signal with Satelite and it SUCKS.

This is a lot more complicated than personal preferences. There are a lot of issues with both. currently I am a cable user because of the high speed internet it provides. I also live about 6 miles from the service provider so when we get an electrical storm you can almost guarantee it will go out - almost every time - once for 5 days!!! It really depends on how close you are to the cable provider.
I have had satellite for three years also. It provided much more reliable service and lightning was not much of an issue. Yes, heavy storms will block your view of the satellite and it is a annoying thing. Every spring and fall the sun will line up with you satellite feed and block out your signal for a few minutes every day for a couple weeks. Cable has the same issue with satellite feeds! Internet feed from satellite is very expensive - this is the only reason I do not have it now. Mostly I have found the TV feeds are a bit more expensive from cable for the programming you receive
The answers are out there and it depends on where you live and the services provided and needed.

These things vary too much from place to place to say which is better. Ask your neighbors what they use, and if they get good reception and options with their cable or satellite company. Some places can have awful cable, while other places get terrible satellite reception. I have had both and they both come with their issues, whether it be your neighbor cutting your cable so they can "borrow" it for themselves or an ice storm bringing havoc to your satellite.

I would go with Cable, because I have heard too many people complain about losing the signal in fog, wind& rain, snow. With cable, there are very few interruptions in service, unless a tree comes down on the wire on the pole.

Do you know why cable is burried?
Cause it's dead.
Satalite is better. I've had both. Cable always is raising rates. I can live with the sat going out occasionally in bad weather, for the savings in $$.

both of them arent bad, depending on where one lives. I would still prefer cable only because its less of a hassle and much clear and consistent in providing good viewing.
