They just like the idea of other people suffering. If they didn't, they would never praise a sadistic, immoral, Hitler-God who drowned, Plagued, and slaughtered millions, conspired to have his own son brutally beaten and executed, and repeatedly commanded his followers to torture and kill people. NONE of that is 'love' OR moral.

Now you know very good and well that we can not prove God to you. You are unreachable because you do not allow the truth of God to reach you. Your defense is impenetrable to us. God may reach you anyway, whether you want it or not. You mistake most of us by thinking we believe you are going to burn in hell. Quite honestly, most Christians have more interesting things to do and think about. Frankly, I have never seen such a group of people so preoccupied with what they claim they do not believe and further, that they claim doesn't possibly exist. You atheists really take the cake. I don't see very many Christians asking "Go ahead, prove God is a fairy tale" or the same of any other precept.

MY OPINION
The atheists in this forum define their existence as the bane of theism AND more pointedly, antagonists of Christianity. Maybe all atheists aren't but those that troll here are.

Please note: Not once did I use derogatory remarks, defamatory language, or personal insult as has been the case in most anti-theist, anti religion and anti-christian postings.

What do we think of atheists? Well, Jesus tells us first and foremost to love everyone, including non-Christians. I am always disappointed when a professing Christian says they hate atheists, because this is totally against what Christ has taught.

To answer your first question, we believe that anyone who hasn't accepted Christ as their savior and is willing to turn away from deliberate sin is going to hell. Harsh, right? The thing is, no one HAS to go to hell. I don't think that just because someone is an atheist that there is no way for them ever to get to heaven. You just have to accept Christ.

To answer the second question, I can't give you the kind of proof that you want. I can't mail you a piece of God. It's like trying to explain a rainbow to a blind man. They've never even seen color, so how do they know there's such a thing as a rainbow? How do they know you're not lying to them? Well, they don't.

Hope that was an acceptable answer. Tried not to be too preachy, but more just explain our beliefs.

The basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap imitations.

So God said, in effect, "If that's what you want, that's what you get." Those kinds of people worship the god they make up instead of the God who made them--- the same God who blesses you.

So why are you worried about what the religious people think? You know there is no God so you're safe, you're happy, you're life has meaning, you're all set. So have a happy life.

Why do you care why we religious people believe what we believe? We believe what we believe because we believe the book you don't believe in. We believe we've experienced God in our lives. We believe he's told us that we all are eternal, both you and me and everyone else. We will all be reborn after death, some to an eternity with God, some to an eternity without God. If you end up in an eternity without God, why are you upset with us, you know there is no God, so an eternity without him should be no problem for you. And besides if we're wrong you just stop existing when you die.

What problem do you have with us?

Because MOST religious people are close minded and can't seem to admit there might be more to the turth than what they believe. That simple...

I said most because it's not all of them. I've met some very nice religious people. But most of them seem to think that everyone that doesn't believe what they do is doomed to hell.. *rolls eyes*

Edited: I meant the traditional christian faith, not the pagans and neo pagans ones. They're very respectful of people's beliefs, as they've been treated badly by the traditional faiths themselves!

Nope. Wiccans don't generally have a Hell concept. As far as I'm concerned, wherever you are is where you need to be, and whatever Gods exist have enough truly unconditional love to bless you no matter what your belief system. They do not require adulation in exchange for Their love.

I don't think you'll burn in Hell. Hell's not even a part of my cosmology. I'm a neo-pagan. You won't even get tortured in the afterlives I actually believe in because you dont beleive in them. You have to beleive in an afterlife to experience it. My faith isn't as extremist as some others. The "all religions are fake, except for mine, it's the Absolute Truth" thing. Theyr'e crazy. I'm not going to Damn you for not believing in my beliefs.

Actually, most of the ones I know in real life and on here are nice people. We respect each others viewpoints. I don't try to convince them and they don't belittle me or anyone else. I think if you're a good person you will be rewarded in the end.

Well, I personally never say that. And I never will. Actually I could careless what you believe or do not believe. The word of God is there for everyone, but if you want to hear it or not is up to you.
