I am Wiccan and after 6mths in here have come to the conclusion that it is mainly ignorance and to a lesser degree fear...
What doesn't help is that a nutcase called King James changed one word in this classic verse..

It was originally Poisoner, and he changed a lot more than that in their precious written by God book....

I am a non-christian and I dont think witches are dangerous at all they are as dangerous as everyother person on earth. There may be a bad one or two but there are also one or two bad christians.

Have missed the last few posts and am grateful to catch a question before it being resolve.
On this particular subject...there are so many of us pagans on here, that i have to agree with alot of them.
Especially with assie.....fear and ignorance...lack of knowledge.
I cant help but wonder what would happen if any of the so called "Organized Religions" would actually take time to drop all the rules and regulations and take a chance by lettting
"GOD OUT OF THE BOX"......?
Now there is a thought.

But in the words of Father Leo Booth.....the most dangerous thing in our society today is RELIGIOUS PREDJUDICE!
As a race of people on a planet that very few are taking care of.....Unity is something we should all strive for. Unity and Tolerance.....

Modern witches have one golden rule,"If it harm none, do what thou wilt'. This is an exceptionally tolerant and libertarian meaning that they will never pose a threat to anyone else and will always allow others to make their own choices. Sound Dangerous to you? I think Christians could learn something there.

Morgana, it seems to be the same old folks who are still ranting on and on about us witches. THOSE folks, the Bibleans, are never going to change. They worship their little black book and ignore the meanings of everythng within it. There ARE a lot of REAL Christians on the otherhand, who ARE decent folks, who recognize us for what we truly are, just a bunch of nice people who are NOT out to subvert their Religion and know that all we ask is that they not subvert OURS. Folks like Ace of Spades and Spirit Princess are examples of such Christians. The rest are atheist, agnostic or none of the above who KNOW who the TRUE evil and dangerous folks are and have come right out and said so. Hopefully what we are doing is to prevent the Bibleans from persuading the rest of them from falling for that old "Witches have turned away from God" or worship Satan, routine.

I wonder if there is any solid evidence* (or any evidence at all) that witches are more dangerous than Christians. There is ample evidence of the incredible damage Christianity has done, quite deliberately, to many societies over the past fifteen centuries.

Wiccans are good people who are into nature gods. They can do you no harm by their worship. Anyone can be a bad or unbalanced person. That has nothing to do with religion. Speaking by their religion alone, no they are not dangerous. Not meaning any disrespect, but since I AM an atheist, their spells are meaningless because there are no supernatural powers.
