it would last at least a couple hours at operating temp. but probably not much longer, by having basically no exhaust system the valves will get hot they cold over and over and over and over... and over again until the physical properties of metal will force them to fall apart. ever got metal really hot then put it in a bucket of water? sure it wont crack the first time, but figure the engine at an idle is going to be running about 1000 rpm, thats 500 heat cycles per minute. ... bottom line is no.

srt 4 neons are very very very unstable and unrealible. taken the fact that even the dealership wont fix it for you. you're pretty much screwed sir thats why dodge stands for D - Dead O - On D - Day G - Guarantee E - Ends or even before =\

If your talking about an open exhaust I wouldn't recomend it you might burn your exhaust valves.In my experience cars run faster with a little back pressure that a good high perf exhaust gives them better than an open header even.
