Good luck the one thing that you can try is to eat lots of candy and caffeine. Smoke lots of cigarettes.

Eight days is a pretty big order without illegal drugs, and I wouldn't suggest that!!
It depends on a lot of things - if you don't regularly consume beverages with caffiene in them, they will help you through the majority of it. If you do, then you could be in trouble. I would suggest highly caffinated beverages such as monster or amped, but, you need to keep moving. The problem with consuming anything with a high caffiene level is that once the levels start to drop, your body will try to crash on you.
The best tips I can give you are:
1) Don't eat any heavy foods. Foods with sugar and caffiene will help, like a chocolate bar.
2) Consume caffinated beverages, but not so much that your body will shut down on you.
3) STAY ACTIVE!! This is big - once your body hits a certain point, it will be impossible to stay awake unless you keep yourself stimulated.
4) Don't overexert - see #1 - you don't want to deplete your body of the resources.
5) It is as important to keep your mind as stimulated as you keep your body.

Other than those few tips, all I can do is wish you luck. The most I have ever stayed awake is 132 hours - that is well shy of what you are trying to accomplish (and mine was out of necessity, not desire). Eight days is 192 hours. Good Luck

Oh, one last thing, make sure you get a good night's sleep prior to starting your endeavour.

You may as well hand over the $400. Eight days is pretty close to the world record for going without sleep, unless you happen to have a rare genetic disorder.

One man who stayed awake for 11 days in Britain, claimed that a 'caveman' diet of raw food helped keep him awake.

But I'd bet you a grand you couldn't do it.

good luck with that but let me just caution you on this a persons body isnt meant to stay awake for 8 days after a certain period of time you will begin to hallucinate and can actually do your mind and body more harm than good. The longest i have stayed awake for was 36 hours when i was in a training excercise and it was all i could do to keep awake then i just passed out.

To stay awake for 8 days, I would stock up on Redbull and avoid doing things that require alot of energy. No sex for those 8 days neither.

Is your life worth $400? I once went to my doctor after not being able to sleep for two days. She mistakenly thought I had not slept in three days and was ready to prescribe sleeping pills for me.

This is an idiotic bet.

Do not try this. It could have very serious physical and emotional consequences.
