there was a recent question put up by "respect or accept" that had a link to a video stating that Christians are the ones being discriminated, not Atheists. if you really think about it, it's true. people take the word God out of everything. they teach evolution in school anymore instead of Christianity. people can't even talk about God in public schools. Atheists don't respect what we believe. people come on! this nation started out as "One Nation Under God" now it's "One Nation Under Satan" Fellow Christians we need to work together to try to spread the word of God because this Nation is going way downhill.

People tend to think that what happened in the Bible happened then and then alone. There isn't a more incorrect statement. History is repeating itself all over again. Israel decided that it didn't want God as its center and what happened? The whole nation was taken into exile. What happened when the Gospel was taken to Rome and the Romans didn't accept it? The empie was brought to it's knees. There are probably many who will disagree with me, but it is true that history does repeat, especially as it relates to the Bible, which is everywhere. Just read even a chapter out of Isaiah or Jeremiah and you will find that what is happening in America, is not new.

Well, I don't know to whom you've been listening, but it is A LIE that "people can't even talk about God in public schools".

There is a whole LOT of protected religious expression in public schools. PLEASE stop spreading lies - that's not a very upright thing to do.

You can find out all about protected religious speech, religious expression, prayer in schools, etc. at the Department of Education website, here:

http://www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/religionandschools/prayer_guidance.html

NOT that I think you'll actually read it.

Further, the removal of special privileges in oder to have everyone in this country equal under the law is NOT oppression or discrimination.

When women got the vote, that wasn't discrimination against men. When Black Americans got the vote, it wasn't discrimination against Whites.

It was the *opposite* of discrimination; the *removal* of discriminatory policies.

This is the same.

if you want your arguements to be taken seriously you should find some facts first.

1, "One nation Under God" was added to the pledge in the 1950's durring the communist scare. it was meant to solidify the nation. beings that the nation was founded almost 200 years before this (give or take 20 years) it was not one nation under god from the beginning.

2, Prayer is not only allowed in public schools but it is protected. with the only stipulations being that it cannot disrupt classes, be done in a manner designes to intimidate or discriminate against other students, led by a school official. or done over school public announcement equipment. the department of education website makes this very clear.

3, school was not designed to teach your religion. if you want your kids to learn religion take the time to teach it to them yourself.

4, My kids have rights too. and thoes rights include to not have your religion forced on them by a school official.

you see taking the word of god out of everything as an attack on your religion. when it is simply respecting others. Christians in America have the same rights as anyone else. but when you are stopped from forcing your religion on others you call it presecution. protecting the rights of others is not persecuting you.

This was never meant to be "One nation under God." Study of the communications between those who framed the US Constitution proves that they went out of their way to AVOID favoring ANY religion over another--or favoring religion over non-religion. This was supposed to be a country where anyone could practiced what he believed without being told that there was a particular way to do it.

Evolution is a scientific principle, not a religious one, and so it absolutely belongs in public schools. Atheists don't respect you because you don't respect them. Christians are not being discriminated against--but the rest of us are heartily tired of you inserting your religious beliefs into our public lives, and we are only trying to put things right.

Satan has nothing to do with the state of the nation--people who elect power hungry politicians because they believe their fear-mongering are. Get out of the church, do some RESEARCH before you go to the polls, and enact the rights you already have to eliminate those who keep us in fear so that they can hoard their power.

The answers to this question prove that the guy who asked is correct. The phrase, "One Nation Under God" is rather new but the concept was from the beginning.

Non Christian and Anti Christian historians have been working hard to remove the Christian Heritage our country has from our textbooks.

More laws are being made today in the courts as the results of Atheists filing lawsuits and that is destroying our country.

The 1st Ammendment saying nothing about "separation of church and state".

I wish you guys would read it.

The 1st Ammendment protects the free exercise of religion.

And in the late 1700's, the word, "religion" meant a particular denomination of Christianity.

Our courts have emerged as the most powerful branch of government and that power needs to be put back in check before this nation under God as we know will cease to exist.

Why do you guys get so upset about public schools? You want your child to be thinking about God and Jesus and stuff all of their waking hours, even when they're supposed to be doing schoolwork? If you want to fill their heads with that, there's still church and Sunday school. As for evolution, what's your point exactly? It doesn't disprove God, or make the Bible stories less viable, once you have accepted that stories is what they are.

80% of Americans are Christians, at least. Every President was a Christian. Every Congressman was and is religious (apart from Pete Stark). Get over it.

Christianity can be taught at HOME and CHURCH. It doesn't need to be taught in schools because it doesn't apply to everyone there. NOBODY'S religious beliefs are being (or should be) taught in schools, including those of atheists. Evolution is SCIENCE, not religion.

It is a LIE that people cannot talk about God in public schools. Students can pray or discuss their beliefs amongst themselves as long as they are not disturbing others or preaching. School employees (i.e. representatives of the government) cannot promote or favor any religion because that would be unconstitutional respect for an establishment of religion, which the First Amendment forbids. Please learn the FACTS about the law, instead of parroting inaccurate church propaganda.

This nation did NOT start out as "one nation under God". The minister who wrote the Pledge of Allegiance intentionally did NOT INCLUDE God in it because he didn't want God's name used in vain everytime it was recited. The phrase was ADDED in the 1950's, is unconstitutional, and will be removed very soon, so that the original, true version can be restored.

If you don't preach in our schools, we won't think in your church.

Zero Cool is correct, and since this is a nation that is ruled by the majority of voters, then if the majority does not want religion taught, then it will not be. I do feel however that discussions between individuals about their personal beliefs in school or out should not be banned because that does go against their first amendment rights. On the flip side if someone is trying to cram their beliefs down someone elses throat who does not want to hear it or be a part of it, that too is wrong.

No, us not believing in your religion is not discriminating against you. Muslims are discriminated against by the Western World, but that's about it.

Wtf do you mean "don't bother answering?" You only want people who agree with you to answer? Pathetic man, you are.

Jane M, the Bible is not fact. And people came to America to escape persecution- BY CHRISTIANS!

Bovine excrement! You people are in the majority. You cannot be discriminated against no matter what you claim. That is the stupidest thing you people have come up with yet. There is a good reason why you can't talk about God in public schools. Because they are public you idiot. If you want to pray go right ahead just quit trying to get everyone else to pray with you. If you don't like that then go to a Cathoic school or a Protestant school, or a Madrassa whatever. They teach evolution because it is science dummy. Creation is once again religion.
