We know that God can use us best when we are in the center of His will. Look at the story of Jonah. Chapter 1, God couldn't use him because he was running from the will of God. Chapter 2, God can't use him because he is repenting for running. Chapter 4, God can't use him because he is pouting about the will of God. But in chapter 3, when Jonah is in the center of God's will, God used him to bring an entire city to repentance. Now, how do we know the will of God. As Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." If we want to know the will of God, we need to seperate ourselves from this world. God wants us to sanctify ourselves from this world. I feel that it is time that we say that we are no longer of this world, and that we are going to serve the Lord. And that we will not be of this world. If you haven't done this yet, will you?

(sorry long answer, not spell checked, please read anyway)

Hi Are you a 3rd Day Fan. On the "Wherever you are" Album there is a song about "How do you know, what I'm supposed to be doin'?, How do you know when I dont Know myself".

There times I have a real good idea about what I'm supposed to be doing for the Lord, and then there are days when I feel like I'm the one that is in the belly of the great fish.

I have been an on fire Christian in my younger days, and by not being careful I allowed the fire to grow to hot in me and I burnt out before I got a chance to burn up.

I don't want to say I kick myself for the years I spent out of the Lords will for me, But I have learned on the way back to Him I have had to crawl over alot of the forest I burnt down on my way out, and my goodness was I ever dirty.

Jesus was there for me, that is the most tangeable part of this story, He was there with a towel girded on, a cloth and a basin of water, and He said, "what took you so long, come let me wash your feet" and as I approached Him and I fell at His feet, He picked me up and reminded me that it was His Job to cleanse me from my Sins. Funny thing... He washed my feet... and immediately afterwards, I was clean all over. (1John 1:9)

I have learned that God just doesn't want a blaze Christian, because (Ps 50:1-6 or so) explains He , The Lord is beautiful, and a flame is about Him always, and a tumultous storm is about Him due to the flame, and we that have entered into a covenent with Him, a covenent of His shed blood, are able to enter and be next to Him, and be translated into slow burning hot coals, that last and last and last.... so that in time we don't burn out, we wont burn up for either, cause salt can't burn... (..."salt of the earth "...Jesus words not mine).

I appreciate your zeal my dear brother in Christ, and I believe what you are saying is true. I would caution you to understand that the time we are living in is precious and short. Peril awaits many, and as a seed sower, you must look not only for the fertile ground, but for the ground that is rocky, weedy, and shallow and ask "Lord, how would you have me prepare this soil?"

I would not for the life of me hurt your feelings, I believe you are called in your boldness for Christ, I do however want to show you part of what God has called me to, called all of us to in these last days. Paul said "... I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the POWER unto Salvation..."
Get the simple message of the Gospel ready on your hands and feet, and look for the people that God would lead you to in this community (here on Yahoo and in your neighborhood) and see and ask Him what kind of soil they are, and wait upon the Lord to show you, and then watch what the Holy Spirit dose.

This is part of my calling, to proclaim the Good News, to use my voice, to encourage, and build up. You are on the right path, just don't take the fire and run, stay and let him turn you into a fire brand, a hot coal, that can be used to purify as you spread this wonderful news of the Majesty of Jesus or Lord.

God's blessings and Peace of Christ

Personally I think Jonah was in the will of God throughout his entire story. Think of how much teaching has occured through the story of Jonah and how many Christians have been influenced and I think Jonah's story was entirely the will of God.
