I don't think ours is ready to burn out, yet, and I don't totally discount the possibility that life like ours existed or does exist on some other distant world...

It is very possible but I doubt the life would've been there anymore...simple answer: I don't have a clue if there was life on that planet. I doubt we'll ever know in my lifetime. That is going to be one of my major areas of research once I get my PhD, though - hyperluminal travel. Is it possible? I think it just might be...We've already sent information at 4.3c (4.3x the speed of light)...

Don't know about life on that planet but you can bet your bottom dollar that in about five billion years our sun will expand into earths orbit and we'll all be toast.

Scientists have said that several planets are like earth. I think the earth will die out soon, maybe several billion years. Nothing for our generation to worry about quite yet.
