Atheist are moral people. Did you know that over 80% of prison inmates are Christian but less than 3% are atheist? Did you know that atheist have a lower divorce rate than Christians?

"Cussing" is not immoral, it is rude. For those in commited relationships, adultery would harm the relationship. Stealing is a social wrong with social punishments.

Morality doesn't come from god. Like all social animals, humans have a moral code based on what is best to maintain our social system of survival.

Every atheist is different. Atheism is not a religion, we don't have any specific rules and we have very different opinions about most things. Pretty much the only thing that unites all atheists is that we don't believe in any god.

Many atheists who grew up in Christian societies share some of the morals, but far from all of them and many things that Christians think of as moral some atheists think of as immoral.

Personally my morals are (to put it briefly) to be a good person, to help when I can and to do no harm. Other atheists can have completely different morals. We each have our own morals.

1. Whether you're a Christian, a Muslim, a Pagan, or an Atheist, no one group of people all have the same morals. There are Christians who are very loose about their morals and there are some who are very orthodox about their morals. Some Christians will commit adultery, theft, or many of the other sins, and think to themselves, "God will forgive me."
2. Morals are a personal thing, what each person sees as right and wrong, because everyone grows up learning differently. "This is right," and "This is wrong." Few people grow up learning exactly the same right and wrong lessons.
3. I know many, many Atheists who have higher morals than many of my Christian friends, proving that you don't need religion and god to be a moral person, you just need to have a sense of right and wrong.
4. Moral in the orthodox Christian sense, and moral in the day-to-day sense are very, very different.

I'm one of the people who realizes that you really do only live once, so I'm not going to restrict myself from everything interesting, fun, and intimate, but I do have very high morals. I'm waiting until my marriage night to have sex, but I do currently have oral sex with my boyfriend. I don't see it as a sin, because I'm not actually losing my virginity or doing much wrong - I'm showing my boyfriend of two years love, building a stronger bond with him.

I cuss, I swear, but I'm moderate about it.

Etc. etc.

Religion doesn't make anyone a better person. Some people don't have a sense of what they do may hurt someone else, believing in a god or not. Being atheist doesn't make anyone a bad person and being a christian doesn't qualify any one as a good person. How we treat other's on a daily basis as a core belief has very little to do with a belief in God. If there is no God, then is it ok to hurt someone else? Do you not hurt someone else only because you believe you will be accountable to God? Or are somethings just wrong either way?

we may have a different idea of what is moral and what is immoral. For example, Christians believe homosexuality is immoral and I believe discriminating against homosexuals is immoral. I believe anything that hurts someone else is immoral. So...committing adultery and stealing, yes. Cussing, no. The difference is my morals don't come from the bible

Yes Atheist do have the same moral code as Christians.

Christianity did not invent morality! And remember not everyone who believes in a God is Christian.

Remember the Jewish folk. They believe in God and are moral but have no Christ.

And there are many other people, believers in Divinity and those, who do not.
All are moral, honest, hardworking people as a whole.

Well, I am a Christian, and I can tell you honestly that I have seen some atheists who have better morals than some "Christians," because these "Christians" believe they can do whatever they want and just confess and be forgiven. I don't know what motivates an atheist who has exceptional morals, but I tip my hat to their example.

Well yeah i guess
i mean i think you should be a virgin until your married. Cussing is obnoxious and rude, and stealing is obviously wrong.

so yeah i guess some athiests do have nearly the same morals
the only difference is that i dont think you go to hell or you "sin" if you do any of those things.

It really depends on the person. I know a lot of athiests who have a very strict moral code. I also know many Christians who claim they do, but don't stick to it. I don't think there's ever one answer that applies to everyone of a particular relgion (or lack thereof.)

Depends on the atheist. I have my own set of morals I follow because I just want to try to be a good person.
