No.
Only that time which is required to prove currency or time needed to meet the requirements of another certificate or rating.
Flight time which is required to be logged is all covered under F.A.R. Part 61.51-Pilot logbooks found here- http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr&sid=1c75a1b1633855fb811619c5b0a61d14&rgn=div8&view=text&node=14:2.0.1.1.2.1.1.30&idno=14

Although it is not required as has been pointed out in the last post, you will be asked how many hours you have logged when you fill out your recurring medical forms. It is a good idea for a private pilot to log all hours of experience for insurance reasons but it is not mandatory.

Only if you plan to add more ratings to your certificate. You must have an accurate record of hours flown for ratings and for your next medical.
The only logging that is mandatory if you don't plan to advance is for currency, to prove you have the required number of hours at night , landings, etc.
Also, if you have an instrument rating hours must be logged to show currency.

No but it is in their best interest to do so.
Insurance rates and ratings are all based on total time. You can never have too much time.
