Join Classmates.com for a small fee & then for free, you will be able to see who is interested in finding someone. When you join, you can sign up for free to have a red heart put next to your name, then the interested parties, can see what state you live in & read your profile (you must fill it out in order to meet someone) & vice versa, then go from there. Classmates just started this dating site. Other than that, no dating web site is free, unless you can try it for a certain period of time. As for American Singles.com, you don't have to join, but then you will miss out on many of the things it has to offer, but you can look at the pictures of those who are in your vicinity. (you just can't IM anyone but they can IM you, & you can't read what they have to say to you in a note. You can visit the chat room however, unless things have changed at that site.

When you join online dating, you should know that there's no best. Finding a right person and fall in love can be called the most sophisticated question in the world. It needs time, patience for you to find the right one.
My cousin meet his wife on http://is.gd/ZiAlJf about 7 years ago and they have been married 4 years with a new born baby. It dose work so don't let people tell you it doesn't or that it is wrong. They are just think it's weired and when you meet that right person show your friends that it worked.
It's a goo way to meet people if you feel like you are shy in social situations plus you get to know someone over email and phone before you meet.

I really hate to tell you this but dating websites are nothing but scams. Whenever you join one, you create your account then you realize in the contract, there's money involved and unless you're a wealthy person then you can do it. But there's danger inside of it and that is the account user could be a hacker. My advice is meet someone who lives in the same town/state. Take me for example, last year I met this new girl named Heidi. She and I went to remedial class. I didn't think it was possible for me to find love again but after seeing her, I fell madly in love with her. She felt the same way.
