Nope, I don't think it is at all. I don't agree.

To an atheist, its not. Science is basically their version of a religious discipline because in essence they worship that which created them; nature.
Many believers however find science a bit mundane because they are too focused on things like Scripture and serving God.
Well 2000 years has gone by and there are 2 types of scholars and historians, the believers and unbelievers. If they end up being mostly secular, history is going to be very skeptical of the faith. If faith endures in people, it will always give allowances.

You can believe anything you like with no evidence at all. That, however, is not science. Science does not require proof, proofs are for mathematicians, but science requires evidence.
Religions die, new religions appear. Christianity will run its course and vanish just as the religions of ancient Rome and Greece and Scandinavia ran their course and vanished.

You don't need proof to believe. You just need to know that it is not proved false.
To believe is to hold as true. Columbus believed that he could get to India by sailing west but he had no proof. He had a reasonable hope which led to a belief. If he didn't have a belief, he wouldn't have gone on his journey.
You probably believe there is no God but you have no proof.

You're right, you don't need science to believe in something. But don't you feel more comfortable when you have two options, and you pick the one that has research and some level of proof attached to it? I know that I sure do.

The same way we view people who believed in Norse or Roman mythology, but with the added twist that nobody will have any supernatural beliefs anymore.

It will be taught after Greek mythology, though I'm sure the students will be much more interested in the more creatively thought up gods like Zeus.

no you don't need proof to believe...
however you do need proof for facts!
Someday, Christianity and all current religions will be viewed as mythology like the Greeks and the Romans religions are viewed today!
