Thats a question you should be asking God but I will tell you to pray about it. Spend some time alone or in a quiet park and bond with nature and God who created it. When you are alone and can really meditate and listen to what God has to tell you. I've done this plenty of times and I get to thinking these thought about God and my faith just strengthens when I am reading the bible's scriptures. The Word of God is very powerful and once His word is sealed in your Heart it is hard to lose faith in Him. But there are those who do and this is what increased my faith....
Where is God? If He is God and in charge of this Universe, why does He allow the world to continue on its course of destruction? Why doesn't he put an end to all the cruel and bizarre things happening in our society? Habakkuk the prophet questioned God and wondered where he was when bad things happened. There are some who would believe that God who is a God of love, mercy, and compassion, does not have a thing to do with the evil that exists in the world. And they wonder what does that say about His power, authority and involvement in the affairs of men.
In the Book of Habakkuk 1:2-3, 13
Habakkuk the prophet asks the same thing:
How long oh Lord will I call for help, and thou wilt not hear? I cry out to thee, "violence!" Yet thou does not save. Why dost thou make me see iniquity, and cause me to look on wickedness?...Why dost thou look with favor on those who deal treacherously? Why art thou silent when the wicked swallow up those more righteous than they?
When Habakkuk asks these questions to God... God answers not only to Habakkuk but to those who doubt His existence and His power and authority.
If you often ask these questions and want an understanding read the book of Habakkuk which is only three chapters long. The book is a conversation between the prophet and his God. Note when God is talking and when Habakkuk is. Highlight all his questions and the answers God gives. Maybe your faith will grow and you will understand better why bad things happen in the world and God is nowhere to answer your call.

It depends on what you are talking about? If you are talking about faith in God then you need to test what you lost with what the scriptures say?
The Bible says that faith is assured expectations of things hoped for. What do or did you hope for? The faith that the Bible talks about is gained only once you know how to serve your creator in spirit and in truth. This means you need to know who God is and who Jesus is? and what God's plans are for his earth and where you fit into those plans?
John 17:3 is where you start. After you acquire knowledge then you can build on your friendship with your creator and his son. So it looks like you need to drink the milk first.
For example Jesus said The meek shall inherit the earth Mathew 5;5, Why did he say that? Because he knew that his heavenly father promised this to the ones who remained faithful to the end. Psalms 37:9-11,29.
The point of this little letter is to encourage you to look at God's word and test the things you think you know against the scriptures because it is the lies of the wicked ones that have under minded your faith. So pick up your torture stake and fight the fine fight of the faith, make sure of all things and hold fast to the truth. Ask questions and see if you can come to an accurate knowledge of God's word. If you need help just ask.
If you do these things you will be set free and become one of the ones that makes your God happy and he will be with you.
(Proverbs 27:11) . . .Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice, that I may make a reply to him that is taunting me.

Faith is the opposite of fear. Love is the opposite of hate, God is the opposite of Satan and either we on the one side or the other. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God..Faith is the substance of things hoped for but the evidence is unseen to the naked eye. Faith is on the same plain as love and hope. In order to increase your faith spend more time reading or listening to tapes of the word of God. God has not only called you His Son but He has made you a king unto Christ. Instead of thinking on things of a bad report, think on good things. Start training your mind to think as a king, a priest and or a prophet of God. God works from within and as you meditate on His Word, your mind conforms to His ways and you mind stays in peace. Start learning how to move into that holy place of God where divine fellowship takes place, you have this right as a priest of God also. You see, there is more to this Christian life than even some Christians even realize but keep the faith! God isn't finished with you..

You may just be growing up. As I see it we build up ideas and pictures of God, based on what we are taught and how we imagine him to be.
OK but we did the same thing with our headteacher, maybe also with a sports personality, or a pop celebrity. What do we do, we make them larger than life. In time we learn that the reality is a little different. If you're friends with the truth, then you're friends with God, whatever that truth will be.
That's hard, most people preconclude. I know I do, and from what I gather so do the greatest minds, whether theist or atheists. The danger is that if we are so absorbed by our own image of God, that we actually push the real God out.
So be prepared to accept God as is.
You have linked God with life. Life you live with all its weal and woe. Life is what you see , life is what you get. Life is the reality that you know.
Those who know faith have to venture God into their lives. If then by our own volition, we can move God in or out of our lives, does that not necessarily follow that God is an invention?
There is just one little problem called sin. Sin is God's problem, and there is an idea that if you did away with God then you would do away with sin, and if you banned religion then you wouldn't have all these guilt hangups and people could just live in peace together.
Trouble is that it has repercussions and reverberations. Every social group has its rules and sanctions for those who transgress. The bible teaches that if these rules are for good then it is of God.
The bible also teaches individual responsibility, basically you are responsible for your relationship and your interaction with God and with others.
Jesus tell the parable of the shepherd who had a flock, and he sperates the sheep from the goats. They were all in the flock. The shepherd makes a dexter and sinister division Goats to the left, sheep to the right.
They were all in the flock. Then let's assume they all had faith. They all acknowledged God. What is the judgement? On how well they had understood the doctrine of the Holy Trinity? If they could recite the Psalms? If they had worked out the big bang? If they had abstained from sex? If they had given lots of money to the Church? If they had sung well in Church? If they had said all their prayers? None of them What then? If they had treated the stranger with care and concern, the hungry, the imprisoned, the downtrodden.
The gospel then is about your relationship with God and your relationship with others through Jesus Chirst. You may see what is wrong with religion, you may see what is wrong with the world, but it starts with an acknowledgement. 'I am a sinner' and the realisation that only Christ can save.
I don't know. You may have been at this point before in your life. It is not an easy point to reach, but you say you have lost your faith. so maybe you were there once. If you accepted Christ, then you are redeemed. You are his by right of purchase. You don't have to hang on by believing. Would I be heritical to say. It's all right to have doubts, it's all right to question? Is God going to be upset by the workings of our puny minds? In fact unless you are prepared to work through your doubts you faith will never be strenghthened.
When the question was asked, What does God require, does he require the sacrifice of my firstborn, my strength?
He has taught thee o man what is good, and what does the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

How does a person who once had faith “lose their faith?” Most Christians who lost their faith lost it one of two ways (or a combination of both). Some lose their faith in One Big Moment. They face a death or tragedy or (actually more likely) they “got screwed royally” by a church or some Christian leader. Another way people lose their faith gradually than in a momentary landslide of rejecting faith. One gets faith only as a gift of God and it is only through grace that we receive it.
Back to the question ... The gift of faith comes through the “means of grace”—the ordinary channels through which God grants His gifts to us. The greatest flow of grace happens in assembling with other Christians. So, attend the means of grace: go to church as often as you can. Hear the worship songs, even if you can’t sing them. Listen to Scripture even if you can’t read it yourself. Hear the prayers of God’s people; maybe even shut your eyes. When the Lord’s Supper is served go forward and take it with hope that it may renew your faith.
Second, Give up resisting. do not resist this grace that brings faith—just ‘let it happen.” This is why we sometimes say ‘faith is a decision.” Is faith a decision made after carefully considering all the options? No. Faith is a decision to respond to God’s grace. It is a decision to not resist grace. A decision not to reject this grace. It is a decision to attend God’s “means of grace” and let God grant you again the gift of faith.

Maybe an improper lifestyle has steered you away from God. I remember when I had a gambling problem my faith was tested. Maybe it is time to simplify your life and go back to the foundation of existence. Seek purity and goodness. Forget all the trivial drama of this world and remember what is important. Do this and you will know God has love for you.

Well , that depends on you. It depends if you believe in yourself, enough to believe in your own faith again.
One never loses faith. they just give up on believing. Because, they give up on life.
Your faith is still there. you just need to find it within yourself. Only you can restore your faith. but then again, you could always pray to God to restore your faith.
But you would have to believe that God will. If you don't ,then you will think god let you down.
And sometimes, you will find that the smallest thing,in life. Can have a big impact on ones faith. Search your soul, i'm sure you will find it somewhere.

I think that alot of people go through that at one time or another. You sound like you havent completely lost it, cuz your longing for it. I didnt realize I lost faith in the church i just stopped going. But thats because I questioned it. and eventually found a different path. If you are seeking to regain your faith, maybe take this time to explore other religions and their beliefs. It might lead you back to yours or to something new, that might have been missing for you. Many Blessings in you journey!

Everyone seems to go through that phase in their life and when they finally figure out that there is a God their faith comes back to them usually in a greater way then ever before.

Jesus was in the desert, He fasted 40 days and 40 nights..
When you are in Chirst, you have eternal life..everything else are not that miserble after all..
God created everything, the birds in the sky, the grass on the field, the grass was not designed like trash.. it is..coated with goodness..compare to humans having the image of God, sure he had designed something for each person.
