I'll be in Los Angeles soon, and I've seen it a little before, but nothing more than watching it fly by through a cab window.

This time I will have a few hours to chill. But I do not want to do any crazy **** either. And recently I swore off alcohol too. I know, in LA and no booze? $%^&

But I still want to see some stuff. So, if I wanted to have a good time in LA, no drinking, and lets also make this as inexpensive as possible, what should I do? Note that I am only there and not on some business for like a few hours, and by 7 pm I have to be at Universal City.

Take a drive starting downtown and head west on Sunset Blvd (the original Route 66). It will take you all the way through the seedy side of Hollywood, through West Hollywood and all the clubs (including the Viper Room where River Phoenix O.D,'d out front on the sidewalk, past the Chateau Marmont wher John Belushi O.D.'d) then Beverly Hills and right past the Hotel California (the Beverly Hills Hotel) all the movie stars homes and past UCLA. You will then go into Brentwood where OJ had his day and then into Santa Monica where Sunset will hit PCH (the Pacific Coast Highway) take this north through Malibu and say hi to Mel Gibson and Paris and Lindsay, then cut through Malibu Canyon and check out the Santa Monica Mountains before getting on the 101 Freeway South which will take you right to Universal Studios. You should be able to make the whole trip in less than 3 hours if you fly and a comfortable trip with lunch will take you 4-5 hours and not cost you anything buy the gas!
